Juventus - Milan Empty Juventus - Milan

Post by dronte Mon Mar 19, 2012 8:35 pm

Guess it's time to talk about tomorrow's huge game!
Conte said it will be "the most important match of the season", although I highly doubt we will go out with a full strength squad.
It will be a close match, my guess is a 1-1 draw.

Probable lineups by goal.com
JUVENTUS
Storari
Caceres, Bonucci, Chiellini
L'steiner, Padoin, Pirlo, Marchisio, De Ceglie
Borriello, Del Piero

AC MILAN
Abbiati
Bonera, Mexes, Thiago Silva, Antonini
Aquilani, Van Bommel, Nocerino
Emanuelson
Ibrahimovic, El Shaarawy

I think Borriello won't play though and I've got a feeling that Esti is getting a place somewhere.

So, Goal.com thinks that Juve will start two fullbacks and three central defenders as Juve's probable line up? Sometimes you just have to love Goal.com's sense of humor. If Conte wants a goalless draw, I guess that could be the formation.

Personally I can't give a simple reason to play 3-5-2 which let us down last time too in Serie A.
I'm quite sure TS won't be rested, Ibra maybe.

I would much rather rest TS and Ibra for the league instead of playing them in the Coppa

It might be called a "3-5-2," but, if it includes PDC and Licht as the wings, then I wouldn't consider it a real 3-5-2 where you would normally expect attacking football. I'm guessing that it's more of a formation that is able to flex between defensive as a 5-3-2 and possession type football in a 3-5-2.

I will give PDC and Licht a lot of credit for covering a lot of the pitch on Saturday against Fiorentina. If you look at the "heat map" on ESPN.com's coverage of the match, PDC and Licht were almost equally in the middle, attacking, and defensive ends of the field. 18:10 - In Juve should not be surprised. Count should confirm 4-3-3: Storari between the pali, Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini and De Ceglie in defense, Vidal, and Giaccherini Pirlo in midfield, Del Piero central striker, supported by Pepe and Vucinic. Unlikely to use Martin Caceres: the Uruguayan should be preserved for the challenge on Sunday night against Inter, in light of the disqualification of Lichtsteiner.

18:05 - According to the latest rumors gathered by Sky Sports, Zlatan Ibrahimovic would have indicated a willingness to take the field from the first minute, despite the influence. The Swede, therefore, should be flanked by El Shaarawy the center of the attack. Behind them Emanuelson.

Back Giorgio Chiellini in defense that has recovered from his calf, he will play alongside Leonardo Bonucci, Lichtsteiner space on the wings and De Ceglie. According Channel Juventus, though, black and white in the rear could be a runoff between the Swiss defender and Caceres. In midfield, to illuminate the maneuver Juventus, there will be Andrea Pirlo, at his side Arturo Vidal and Emanuele Giaccherini seems that the advantage on Claudio Marchisio for his role as the left midfielder. Count on offense will rely on captain Alessandro Del Piero, with his trident in there should be Mirko Vucinic, who in recent games has found the enamel of the best of times, and Simone Pepe. Even Marco Borriello - refers Juventus Channel - could have a small chance of playing as a starter in place of Montenegro and perhaps, with the inclusion of the Neapolitan bomber, the module may vary from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2. In any case, Earl makes his decisions to close the match.

Chance of formations:

Juventus (4-3-3): Storari; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, De Ceglie, Vidal, Pirlo, Giaccherini, Pepe, Del Piero, Vucinic.

Subs not used: Manninger, Caceres, Estigarribia, Padoin, Elijah, Quagliarella, Borriello.

I'm not sure how I feel about Del P as the central striker. That's not really his best role.
