Picking an All-time World XI

Made some few tweaks. Zico replaces Zidane in team Tiki Taka, he would be perfect in Iniesta role in my opinion. Benetti replaces Rijkaard in Cantenaccio, in that team an anchor man is needed, or as the Italians call it a water carrier, which Rijkaard was not. And yeah Best replaces Dzajic, got a bit carried away there, I just am enraged on how underrated Dragan is. If he played at Madrid instead of Red Star Belgrade, he would be up there with all the GOATs.

Well, yeah, he is one of many players that hasnt had the recognition he should have got. But i think he is at least officially recognised as yugoslavias greatest ever so he has some credit at least

I'd pay a lot of money to watch this team every week....

Not the best players ever but the sort of team I'd love to see and would go mad for:


I found this difficult... Forwards were far too hard. I wanted someone who was ruthless, quick and offered horizontal penetration. Also as I want to play a pressing game, I thought Eto'o fitted the bill. In his younger days he was very quick. Did this relatively quickly so I'm sure there are better options but of players I know, his hard work is second to none and I wanted a worker.

Cruyff and Laudrup are quite interchangable.

Alves and Carlos naturally bomb on, these are the 2 best attacking fullbacks I've seen.

Matthaus played often as a defender, so like Busquets he would happily drop into a back three when the fullbacks push high up.

Personally I think some of these players fit together.

Cruyff, Pele, todays Messi, Maradona and Platini ...I think it would be hard playing two of these at the same time, 3....no chance.

They all take up very similar spaces on the pitch.

Way too many people picking ball dominant players who need loads of touches to be effective.

They are ball dominant because they are on of the best players in their team.

Best i've seen only. In a 3-5-2 you need technical defenders, and Hierro is better than Nesta on the ball.

Glad to see the great Van Basten in there, he`d always be in my team, phenomenal player.... BUT.... Cruyff in place of Rivelino & Beckenbauer in place of Van Hanegam/Xavi would be better IMO
