It varies anything from 40 and 2 and 50 and 10
It's not amazing but it's more than good enough to not lag in Battlefront
Or should be...
Speed doesn't effect lag at all, you can have a 128kb internet and it won't effect your gaming performance as long as the ping remains low.
Are you sure about that? I was told that the upload speed affects lag. My ping seems pretty inconsistent. I did 3 speed tests and got 6, 17 and 28 ping.

Re: Speedtest.net
Your upload speed is shocking mole. It shouldn't be that low.
Any ping below 50 is fine Thimmy. People have been gaming online with less than 2mb internet. As long as ping isn't over 50, you shouldn't get lag.

Yeah, I'm not worried about my ping, I just think it's a bit odd that it seems to fluctuate so much between tests.

Depends on the tickrate of the server and how much data per tick. a 30Hz 64 man Battlefield 4 server will be around 200kbs so 128kbs would not be enough.
We actually have 150down/20up so this os more of a speedtest of my wifi connection

Re: Speedtest.net
Also yeah, this "upload is important to your ping/lag" is conventional wisdom from the ISDN and early DSL age, when people actually played online with connections where the upload would be the bottleneck.
If there's a game that goes anywhere near needing the 0.5mbit upload that even low-end DSL offers, I'm not aware of it.
This is from the time when people would have a 756k DL / 64 - 128k up DSL connection, so in other words, this is basically a Counter Strike meme. And I mean from the days when it was a Half-Life mod and it's version numbers were prefaced by the word "Beta".
Oh Beta 5.2, greatest of versions. I miss you.

Most of my friends have the exact same broadband provider and speeds that I have, yet it's apparently faster than 98% of Norway

I remember those annoying, dial-up sounds vividly I also remember the frustration of hardly being able to load a simple website, because two people in my household were online at the same time. Good times.

I'd guess it's because mainly Males 15-30 want fastest net possible
Everyone else I know outside that demography has no idea what the difference is between 5mbit and 400

I’m more into tall women myself. Don’t find small persons enticing as I’ve got enough back problems to deal with after my growth spurts.

Re: Speedtest.net
at this stage faster than X% on speedtest doesn't mean much since the site has existed for 12 years and takes all those results into account
