Gerrard or Scholes
Re: Scholes or Gerrard?
I'd have Scholes in my team at his peak over Gerrard everyday all day.

And Scholes doesn't? Don't speak for me, as I said Scholes everyday all day.
Just see who's trophy cabinet is bigger, Gerrard sure led his team to alot of big wins......

Re: Scholes or Gerrard?
I get the perspective.I know some people don't really care about this whole big game thing, some think it's overrated even me at times)....but when i watch Gerrard in a big game, in a game with some semblance of meaning to someone ( not necessarily to win a trophy) it's amazing.
You just can't learn that heart. You can learn everything you can pass like a magician, you can be the most dominant force in a game, but you just can't learn that heart.
Not saying he's better BTW, i myself lean towards Nishank's point of view.I'd certainly take Gerrard in my own team, but more down to team construction.

Re: Scholes or Gerrard?
Xavi said this about Scholes
‘In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen — the most complete — is Scholes. I have spoken with Xabi Alonso about this many times. Scholes is a spectacular player who has everything.
‘He can play the final pass, he can score, he is strong, he never gets knocked off the ball and he doesn’t give possession away. If he had been Spanish then maybe he would have been valued more.’

Nishank wrote:I still dont understand why people compare these two players. I dont see anything that common apart from the fact that they are English to have a very solid argument.
Both are very different players, I respect both of them in their own positions and contribution to the team.

Gerrard for me all day long. Easy decision, but as Nishank pointed out, they may both be midfielders but are still very different type of players.

Re: Scholes or Gerrard?
When Saddam Hussein was found guilty he was originally sentenced to be shot.
His last request was to name his own firing squad: He chose Lampard, Gerrard and Carragher from 12 yards.
