Teams generally dont have problems scoring against them, they just let in more.
This.
Plus one reason i think teams can't park the bus against us is that we misplace a lot of passes and they usually counterattack us in those situations. we play a high line and Xabi is too slow at stopping counterattacks.

So teams commit more men to the attack, stupidly, then combined with how quick Madrid transition to attack you get what we see.
Real's defense deceived us :vagi:
Well If they keep this up, I think teams will eventually work out a way to beat them, just like they did with us over time, or at least make it more difficult for them to win every freaking game, but until that happens....

Amazing how ref-power hasn’t been mentioned yet in Madrid’s play

Re: The Football played by Real now (Barca Fans only)
They are not strong but just a bigger squad than Barca. Simple.
For the previous post.
Ozil and Kaka are not good defensively but their duty is simple. Cut out the passes going into the midfield which can be done without being a good defensive player or tackler as they press high up as well. Kaka likes to accelerate and cause problems for opposition defenders but the position from which he starts those runs is behind the striker for the most part. Off the ball, Ronaldo, Kaka and Ozil would fall deeper than Benzema but not as far back as Granero or Alonso and by so doing would form a bank of three just behind the main striker in a relatively narrow 4-2-3-1 setting.
One of the other pressing roles is just behind the striker. The idea here is that the winger and the striker press the full back and centre back while the attacking midfielder (Ozil) stops the ball going into midfield. Often this creates a pressing triangle
Then a good manager will not play the same formation every time as he will adjust it according to his opponents. It might look like a 4-3-3 on paper but when they go forward and backwards they change the formation usually. Like the brilliant little move Pep did when Madrid was pressing high and cutting off combinations in the centre and between the lines. So Pep shifted Busquets into CB Puyol on Ronaldo and Alves was freed up on the wing. Jose did not react and lost 3-1.
Madrid was playing 4-2-3-1 in defence /4-2-4 in attack
Now the point is to create the space somewhere in your opponents formation. That is why English sides struggle against Spanish side so much because a lot of them live and die by the 4-4-2 classic which means a 4-3-3 has a unmarked midfielder in the middle of the park and ala the CL final vs United Valencia spent more time tracking runs in the middle of the park than doing anything offensively on the wing. So he was patrolling a unfamiliar zone and that is what you want cause where someone leaves a zone space opens up for overloads
