Re: The official next manager thread.
I get what you are saying about set pieces Kick, but don't you think we easily allowed them goal scoring opportunities?
On paper, Cole Luiz/Terry Cahill Ivanovic are among the best Back 4 in the world. But we had to rely on really last ditch defending by them and a whole lot of luck not to condede, especially in the latter parts of the CL campaign
It's not just the case with RDM or AVB. If you guys remember how easily we started conceding when Hiddink was there, its the same thing all over again. I didn't forget how Bolton (is it?) scored around 3 goals within half an hour at the bridge and we were lucky to escape with a win in time to face Liverpool for the epic CL knockout fixture
Its gotta be a coaching problem; not just a management issue. Our defense has never really been the same without Steve Clarke

Pretty much a foregone conclusion by now, you'd think.

DailyFail saying the contract agreed with him is "definitely" more than just one year.
Not sure if they, of all people, can be trusted or not though.

Re: The official next manager thread.
I sincerely hope it is. This one-year-deal business just screams, "waiting to see if someone 'better' becomes available next year".
Would hate for that to be the case.

Yea, I figured, in honor of his imminent appointment, I'd dedicate my entire sig to him

Re: The official next manager thread.
I feel the one year deal is the way to go.
if he doesn't do well, we don't have a lengthy contract to get out of and if he does do well, we can always re-sign him. It is really a win-win for all.
So glad to hear he will be appointed

The problem, what will qualify as "doing well"? For me, it would be to have the team on the way to playing good football, successfully integrating our new signings, keeping all players happy and playing with heart even with the rotation system he uses, and blooding youngsters when possible, among other things.
For Roman and his cronies, though, I feel they'd settle for nothing less than one of the major trophies, and anything short of that, I feel they'll be out looking for someone else.

Re: The official next manager thread.
I feel Roman will ease up on the trophies now we have CL.
change is what we need now, and RDM is the guy for it.
As long as he gets us into CL for 13/14 season and makes it into the knockout stages this year he will keep his job.
