Villas-Boas to become new Chelsea manager

BBC are confirming it.So probably true.Bit of a risk on his part taking Chelsea job so early.

on a serious note I think there may be some truth to this.

His list of records in just one year:

1)By winning the UEFA Europa League on 18 May 2011, he is the youngest manager ever to win a European competition, at 33 years and 213 days of age.
2)The club record for the most matches across all competitions unbeaten (36). This record was previously held by José Mourinho at 33 matches.[11] Part of this streak was completed by the previous coach of FC Porto, Jesualdo Ferreira.
3)The most wins in Europe in one season by a Portuguese club (14)[12]
4)The most points in a 30-game Portuguese league season (84)
5)The highest number of consecutive wins in the Portuguese league (16)
6)The biggest margin over the second placed team in the league (21)[13]
7)The only team to win the Portuguese league without being beaten aside from Benfica in 1972/73[14].
8)On 3 April 2011, Villas-Boas won his first Primeira Liga, five rounds before the end, by defeating second-place Benfica 2–1 away at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon,[15] becoming the third youngest coach to win it, only behind Mihály Sistka (1938–39) and Juca (1961–62). It is the second time that Porto won the Portuguese league by beating its rival at its home soil, the first time being 71 years ago, in the 1939–40 season when Porto clinched the title by defeating Benfica at the Estádio das Amoreiras.
9)On 22 May 2011, Villas-Boas won the Treble by winning the Portuguese Cup, equalizing Tomislav Ivić (when he won 4 titles for Porto in 1987/88), and making Porto the first (and only) European team to win a treble twice (Portuguese League, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League).

Will be Inter's new manager in 2 years time.

From a club source:"We hope to be able to make an announcement regarding the new manager in the next few days or so, but until then we will not be commenting further on the speculation surrounding [the] appointment [of Andre Villas-Boas]."

Pretty much confirms it.

Ya thats why its a huge gamble on his part at this stage of his career.His reputation will be completely ruined after he was just sacked in a year unlike Ancelotti.

For all his impressive records last year one has to remember that he has yet to face any high quality team.The best team he faced last year was Villareal so he is still very inexperienced in big match pressure.It would be interesting how the likes of Ferguson plays mind games with and how he responds.

The likes of Mourinho and Ancelotti had already won CL in their career so they had the reputation to survive.Villa Boas will be very vulnerable if he fails to win any silverware next year he is more than likely win get the sack.He is in a similar position to Scolari.

He has won the treble with porto in his first season as manager...along with those unbeaten streaks...of course he knows how to deal with pressure. And an easy way to deal with Fergie's mind games is to ignore them as they turn out to be wrong most of the times

How many teams Porto has beaten last year were high quality teams?Dealing with the likes of United Arsenal Barca and Madrid is totally different pressure to facing the likes of Benificia and Braga.And its easy to say ignore Fergie but if Chelsea lose to them Media will spin it in a different way.

I am not saying he will fail at Chelsea but he is taking this step too early in his career.He should have stayed at Potro for one more year atleast gaining CL experience.

So it seems he is on way to Chelsea hot-seat. All the best for him and congrats to Chelsea for a great signing for only £15 million. Remember, all good signings doesn't have to cost £30-50 million.

But how long is he going to last! It's no secret that without CL, no manager is safe at Chelsea. IMO, he will get two years. I just wonder how will he cope if things don't go well. He is too young.

Regardless of how he won he had that experience of winning the CL which VillaBoas currently lacks.

I do feel bad bringing him over so early in his career but I believe he can do wonders at the club.
