The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
I would like to wish him all the best at Zenit, and Thankyou for everything Arshavin.
The memories he gave us are Mostly the good ones. There were few bad performances but The good ones outweight them.
Thanks for giving us the best result of our lives against Barcelona
Thanks for saving us and helping us to finish in top 4 in 08/09
Thanks for all the goals and Assists

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
Thank you Andrei. He was great for us, wish him luck with Zenit and Russia.
Still pissed off that Wenger didn't buy a replacement, if he knew he's gone.

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
Played out of position for all his 3 years at the club, memorable first 6 months, winner v barca too.
Some great games from him obviously liverpool a few times, Porto 5-0 when he was amazing too.
Our midfield against Spurs last season at Emirates: Nasri Fabregas Song Denilson Arshavin; < 4/5 gone. So many changes every year.
The most craziest Arshavin moment was when AW left him out of team v Chelsea in 09 fa cup semi-final, when he was on fire. Bizarre.

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
It is a loan, so there's a chance he'll be with us again next season. However, I think it's pretty clear that the club was looking to offload and if not in January, than certainly in the summer.
There's also talk of Zenit making the loan permanent eventually.
I'll dig up some of my favourite moments from him in a moment.

Then Wenger is clearly a fool
Keep Diaby, Denilson and Bendtner, sell Arshavin

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
I'm one of the fans who think Arshavin's time with us was up, but to loan him out now of all times is just madness. The guy, for all his flaws, still has that ability to produce moments of quality. A player like that could've been useful.
It's a bit sad, in a way, that it's gotten to this point with a player of his quality. It's definitely a "what could've been" situation.

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
He has been one of my favourite players since he signed for us. I've frequently defended him from criticism throughout this season, and at the end I really wanted him to be getting more game time because I don't think he is quite done yet as a player. Also, now would be the perfect time for him to play more centrally, so the move makes no sense to me. If this is the end though, thanks for everything Shava.

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
Its obvious we waited until the British window was shut until we offloaded him or else the fans would be calling out for a big name to replace him.
And it really is a bizarre move...he could still be useful down the stretch against lower table teams and if you consider our injury crisis.
But as for Arshavin leaving...he gave us some great moments, especially with his 5 goals at Anfield and the screamer at Old Trafford. His ability to tracking back and stamina was always a concern, but he was always being played out of position and we never got to see the true Arshavin.

We will never forget the great goals you scored for us, I wish the best of luck and I hope you do well.
I am happy that he is gone so now he can get playing time and play in his right position.

Re: The Good Bye Arshavin Thread
Worst part is that when you look at the stats and the games he played. He was not any worse than most of our team. I was hoping to see him in Ramseys position this weekend.

What if Ramsey gets mad at Wenger, we dont want that do we. Ever if he is injured Arshavin must not play there.

I guess that it is just one more bad decision by the club this year. I guess that I should be surprised.
