Overall, generally speaking I dont understand why the Catalan players bother playing for Spain.

I understand the desire to win things at a National team level and as the Catalan NT cannot, I guess that is a fair enough option. But after winning everything, I dont understand the motivation.

I don't think there is anything wrong with his Ronaldo banter but I wish he wouldn't do it. All it does is give extra motivation to Madrid for the upcoming season. You just know it will come back to bite him in the ass.

Also it's sort of small time. You just won a treble, why bother taking digs at Madrid? But that's my personal opinion.

Feeling Catalan and Spanish are not necessarily mutually exclusive

Pique and this ref have had a past before. Jibers bought back a thread back in 2012 I believe and Pique got a red and said something about the ref in the press, so it could have to do with the feud they have going. Then again with the way Pique is his dig at Cristiano after the La Liga/CL and dig at Madrid after the UEFA Super Cup wouldn't surprise me he uttered those words.

I read a qoute earlier which sums up my thoughts.

Pique 4 game ban for maybe insulting a linesman. Arda throws shoe at the ref, Yellow card. Only in La Liga.

I dont think anyone would could complain if he said it and got the 4 game ban, but their has to be consistency. Not made up punishments. Other players get away with it and never got ban of 4 matches.
