Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
I believe he is called the anteater or something on barcaforum. No idea why.
One of my favorite players right now and imo the most ideal player to play the Xavi role once the maestro retires.
Plays the game in slow motion still seems to have loads and loads of time.
Tactically perfect, clever and always willing to do the dirty work for the team.
Also his dragbacks and feints are a treat to watch. The one which had Oezil flying through the air was just classic.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Ozil died lol
I dont think I can remember a player in the deep midfield who has shown up so many players in such a short amount of time.
Nobody routinely fools players like him. The amount of times he has owned players without even touching the ball is enough.

Never heard of the anteater. I heard something related to Octopus before. None of them really stick just yet.

He fooled Rooney countless times in the CL final.
Its just incredible the way he does it.He will feint going one way and then go the other, leaving the opposition player completely flat footed or in Oezil's case down on the ground.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Watching Barca has actually improved me as a player, copying moves like Busquets. I have never stolen as many moves off a player since Ronaldo.
I can only imagine what would happen if I got to train with them, look at Mascherano's improvements on the ball for example.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
Same here Dani, Busquets, Iniesta, and Xavi (mostly Busquets though to be honest) have certainly made me a better player. Busquets pass feints are absolutely ridiculous, in how good he is at them.
Question, is there anyone else you guys can think of who has played a crucial role in his respective club and national team that is as decorated as Busquets at the age of 23? I can't think of one.

Re: 'El Pulpo': Sergio Busquets
It literally looks like Ozil tripped after the feint.
But I can't tell if he was trying to go for a standing tackle and got shitted on by busquets.
or if busquets feinted and ozil kept going and lost his footing?
But that pass he had against Valencia>>>>>>

Love the posts, Im really liking him of late...noticed that hes also vital to us winning the ball straight back after we lose it up front, hes virtually always the first guy to the ball once its loose up front, thats just so important. I like Octopus ir Biscuits (for humour) and if no better name comes up.
I doubt he will be able to replace Xavi though, hes not the type as advanced in the play maker type of player able to pick out through passes consistently. But defensively and covering tackle etc, hes second to none.
I think he was absoutely the first youngster Guardiola brought on as soon as he was coach of the first team. Its incredible to think of it. I dont think Ive ever seen a young player rise up so quickly and become such a consistent top player. He played as a starter in the WC and winning it in the space of just 2 years.
Biscuits!

I'm being serious dude, those players make me mad as well with the diving.jiopsi wrote:Just like Divenaldo, Dive Maria, and Pepedive should stop the pitiful diving.Giggity5313 wrote:Needs to stop the play acting.. I'm sure his teammates are getting pissed at him at this point.
All I'm saying is that busquets does it way too much. When you guys went vs getafe instead of shooting 5 yards away from goal or laying it off he just dived.
Other then that he has a fantastic touch and unbelievably disiplined. Just needs to tackle a bit better, but he's very good at slowing down attacks and forcing them to go to the wings. A genius in his own right.
