Re: Pep Guardiola
"Spain's Marca today released the results of a survey which position the Argentine as the strongest candidate to replace current coach of Barcelona. 59% of respondents prefer to Bielsa as new manager, 17% asked to Luis Enrique, current coach of the Rome of Italy, Villas-Boas then follows with 13.7% and less are preferred with Ernesto Valverde Laurent Blanc and 5.5% with 5.2%."
Luis Enriquez isn't getting his project going at Roma.

How has he been treated by the press and the fans in Spain.
Have they turned on him ?
Capello to replace him ?

Re: Pep Guardiola
Wow, I am sorry but I lost a lot of respect for Pep if he does decide to leave. Since he has taken over Barcelona they have been winning, the one season they don't win the CL and Liga he leaves??? I don't get it, if he stays and next season Barcelona can win everything back, would this not prove he really is a legend?
All this is proving is that he is scared.

I am not saying that is why he necessarily is leaving, but it can be perceived from that point of view.EarlyPrototype wrote:That is not why he is leaving Milan31.

Re: Pep Guardiola
You can't lose respect for Pep because he decides to leave.
There are some who just don't want to do this forever you know, he's won everything he possibly can in life.
No reason for him to say.

This isnt the one season he doesnt win the Champions League (remember when Inter knocked us out?). Also since he arrived he hinted he would likely stay 4 years. its been 4 years..if you want to sit here and debate he is a legend do as you like but get your facts straight first

Re: Pep Guardiola
Pep is in his right to leave. A cycle doesnt last forever. And teams need new blood. If he leaves it's probabbly because he believes it's in the best interests of the club.

Re: Pep Guardiola
you can tell the stress of the media has gotten to him a bit, his hair (the little he has/had) was definitely a few shades darker 4 years ago.
he could use a year off to relax, gather his thoughts and think about which team he wants to manage next because he will be able to easily walk into any team.

Re: Pep Guardiola
Peps not leaving because he's scared, he's always said that he doesn't envision himself at Barca for a long period of time, and that was the reason he signed 1 year contracts. He has always said that he takes the job very very seriously to the point where he would probably leave after 4-5 years if he lasts that long.
He is a workaholic and as a manager, obsessed with Barca- which is why he was so great, but this has caused him to have to leave and take a break.
The fact that Barca do not win CL or La Liga this season has nothing to do with it, it is only a coincidence.
All the best to you Pep, have a stress free break, maybe come back to football, and hopefully Barca! Who knows. Thanks for everything Pep, I can never repay you but you will and this Barca will always have a special place in my heart.
