I've really been getting into sniping lately. I'm thinking of prestiging and only using the MSR and playing mainly hardcore domination and ground war. I seem to get the best kill feeds in these game modes.

I think my best scores yesterday were 48-6 (w assault killstreaks) and 60-25 (hardcore domination w UAV and ballistic vests only)

Now I expect everyone to be saying COD 9 will be decent.

I play STACKS of hardcore domination

It's really good for leveling up weapons your struggling with since everyone has 30% health and there is increased bullet damage. Like you can go berserk with the model 1887 in your first game on hardcore domination. And I play domination because other game types have respawn times where as domination doesn't.

Btw Milandevil, it is almost always a one hit kill with any sniper on any part of the body on hardcore.

I noticed I never get pissed off about dying when i'm playing hardcore. Maybe it's because I expect to live long.

When i'm playing regular, I always chuck on specialist and i'm always thinking "okay domination, lets get a moab". But then theres that guy camping in the dark corner, or using dead silence/assassin/blind eye with a silenced type 95. Hardcore game modes or just different.

Yesterday in particular I singe handedly shat on the PoW (prisoner of war) clan on domination. I came in mid game and they all had mics and were like "hold B, now you push A". Game finished. We won. I was on the other team for the next match and I made B flag my b**ch. NO ONE got a sniff of that flag and I think we won 200-98 and I went like 51-10.
Even though CoD can piss me off like no other, it's these kinds of moments that make me love the game.

For those looking to get high kills in MW3, I found a pretty good set-up for easy kills with the assault package.

Scar-L
Kick Proficiency
Extended Mags

Recon Pro
Hardline Pro
Stalker Pro/Marksman Pro

Predator Missile
Reaper
Pave Low/AC-130

Just chuck your flashes in the popular area, Recon will pick them up, either you'll kill them or your teammates (every second kill counts towards your killstreak with hardline pro). You'll get your predator in 4 kills/ 8 assists. If you're playing ground war, a multi-kill isn't out of the question. Get your reaper, and a Pave Low or AC-130 is almost guaranteed from there. Rinse and repeat.

This is the first COD edition that I am playing and I think I am doing pretty well.

If your into quickscoping and such, give MW2 a try. The multiplayer is REALLY f**ked up but, in my opinion, it is the best game you could possibly play if you want to quickscope.

And I play Xbox, I remember reading you play PS3 so thats a shame

Also, just unlocked Spas 12 extended mags and the damage proficiency



It's only after you unlock the damage proficiency that the shotguns actually FEEL like shotguns. But its still not as good as the Spas 12 in MW2

Yeah I do play on PS3 unfortunately. Also, the shotgun that I love the most is the model. Yes I know it sucks but I just love it. The spas is really good and I once saw in a video ( i think by Raw instinct) that if you add grip to the spas, it will increases the fire rate between each shot.

2. Not dragging the crosshairs over the enemy. Massively increases your hot detection.

And I've figured out how to hit my no scopes more often in short to medium range. It's pretty much dragscoping by flicking your gun up and away almost instantly after you shoot. I have won SOOOOO many 1v1 close quarter gunfights with this with this.

I always strafe to one side, while doing the "dragscope"- like maneuver towards the other direction. It seems to work for me. I've had the gold camo on model1887 through 3 prestiges now, and I only recently realized that it's probably the weakest of all shotguns in MW3. I like the feel of the model1887, but it loses out to the other shotguns in terms of fire rate and one-shot-kill rate. It's still a very good shotgun, but the other ones are easy-mode in comparison. In contrast to the model1887, I hate how the AA-12 looks and feels, but you can completely demolish crowds of enemies with it, due it's ridiculously high fire rate. The model 1887 has a decent one-shot-kill rate, but that's it's only strength, and I'm under the impression that it loses out to SPAS, USAS and KSG in this respect, as well.

Hardscoping is actually something I don't mind using or getting killed by.

I don't have a huge thing with hardscoping or quickscoping

What I do have a problem with is the people who lay prone with an AS50 with blind eye/assassin/marksman and they are just ADS the whole time looking at a doorway or something. I know that's what snipers are actually meant to do, engage targets from long range but if they're gonna do that, they can go play battlefield. CoD snipers run around, they get involved in the action. And that's what make snipers so appealing for some, the fact that they can roll with the assault rifles and submachine guns and still do their part for the team.

By the way guys, I got 2 kills off an MSR MOAB yesterday with specialist on regular TDM. Oh well...

Can anyone give me tips on how to die less while quickscopping? And also what sensitivity should I use, I am stuck between 7,8, and 9.

I would say my speciality is not so much killing but its more... like.. not dying... you know what I mean?

Milandevil, I'll tell you what were the huge factors in helping me get my MSR streak.

1. A headset and Sitrep Pro
Undoubtedly the biggest factor in me getting MOABs, Sitrep Pro allows you to hear enemies footsteps louder (as long as they aren't using Dead Silence, nothing counters that). You almost always get the jump on your enemies as well as avoiding cheap deaths like running into claymores, betties and IMS.

2. Having an unfair advantage in 1v1
Whenever I engage my opponents, I always try to have some cover in front of me. It may be a car (make sure it can't blow up), a low stone wall, whatever. If you have Assassin Pro, people will have a lot of trouble hitting since your name won't come up.

3. Stay as far away from your teammates as possible
Wherever your teammates are, that's where the enemy isn't, it you stay on the other side of the map from them, you'll come across more opponents and get more kills. Though it does take a while to "read the spawn", I highly recommend looking up YouTube videos where people talk about how to read spawns.

4. Your secondary must always, ALWAYS be MP9 suppressed.
Though you should be trying to use your sniper as much as possible, your secondary is still important and no secondary, including FMG9 akimbo, beats the MP9 suppressed. It's fast, accurate, no recoil and can hit opponents from an impressive range. It's pretty much a pocket primary weapon.

And just play smart, pick your fights and check your corners. If you see some guy across the map who is about to run out of sight, dont worry about it, let him go. With checking corners, make sure you know the popular camping spots (I personally still have problems on Interchange) but Stalker and Marksman really help you here. Stalker for obvious reasons and Marksman just makes people pop out.
