anyone waiting/looking forward to the Galaxy S III?
I am a big Samsung fan. I have a Samsung TV, and recent years they be making great phones like the Galaxy S and S 2, while i never got to buy the S2 i am waiting to buy the S3.
recently samsung said they will not publish it in MWC in the end of this month, which is sad, but if they can put the Exynos 5250 in it it will definetly be worth waiting for.

Hell, the S2 hasn't even arrived properly here yet
I swear RIM survives on Blackberry sales from Venezuela... I do not understand how people can own such shit phones, with such awesome ones already available.

I was but not anymore.
With all these different android phones coming out it's pointless.
There isnt much to them. Aside from screen size and their operating system.
Which what is Ice Cream Sandwich now? Hugely over rated.
It isn't worth it. As soon as Im eligible for an upgrade il get an android phone again but as for now I'm fine with my iPhone.

was gonna wait for it but was taking too long... so i opted for Galaxy Nexus instead.....and i can definitely say i made the right decision
The next android phones will all be Quad core and have Tegra 3, which has a bloody amazing gpu
and ICS is bloody awesome if you get it rooted
and btw Colo.... companies like Moto and HTC have decided that they are only gonna release 1 phone a year from now on.... the other phones they will release are for lower end markets

Nice choice, I love my Nexus. And I don't have mine rooted and I still love ICS. When CyanogenMod 9 drops I think I will root however.

Rooting and unlocking bootloaders are two different things .dmize wrote:imalegend wrote:was gonna wait for it but was taking too long... so i opted for Galaxy Nexus instead.....and i can definitely say i made the right decision

I just said I would root when CM9 is out, jk to be honest I didn't know that. I thought CM let you run custom ROMS. Tbh I'm not even sure I want to root, stock ICS is that good.

I know it'll help with battery life but what else do you gain by rooting? I know there's probably a lot but as a casual user I really only care about Apps/Battery life mainly.

Rooting is akin to administrator privileges on Windows :L.
So unless you do anything with it, nothing will happen (:

Re: anyone waiting/looking forward to the Galaxy S III?
I'm saying if you root and flash a custom rom, most will have better battery life than stock ICS. I'm also pretty sure you can install custom .apks too, too.
And on a G Nexus if you're going to root, you have to unlock the bootloader, correct? And wouldn't that wipe the device, I guess I could back up first, but that's a pain.

You actually confused me, but what I said was actually correct. They're not the same, but you have to unlock the bootloader in order to root(at least on the Cdma GNexus)... And it's good that you don't have to flash a ROM when you root, but wouldn't you want to? You can't install CyanogenMod without rooting.

You can install custom .apks without rooting .__.
I don't think you need to root to install CMod, though .

Okay, I was wrong on that, lol. There's a setting in developer settings I think, if you check you can install .apks from anywhere.
I really don't think you can get CM 7 or 9 without a root on a Nexus though

Got an SII. Goddamn does it kick ass. I went from a 2G phone to this, it feels like I'm in Star Wars or something.

WHY WOULD YOU NEED ROOT FOR? YOU JUST NEED AN UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
It's like installing a different operating system by booting off a different drive: you don't need root to reformat that partition.

Re: anyone waiting/looking forward to the Galaxy S III?
I drool at the spec list for the GIII but I'm pretty happy with my GII...Plus, all those wonderful features are surely going to simply drain the battery even faster and I'm already on my last nerve with that issue as it is
I love all the features but at the end of the day, still need a phone to be a phone...Wish Google would focus more on making Android smoother and less of a resource hog instead finding new ways to toast bread with the device

Agree with what you said
Have you considered getting a SII External Battery Charger and an Extra Battery?
My SII is virtually on all the time and whenever it runs too low, I swap the battery for the charged one.

My contract runs out in August and I think I'll purchase a GS3. How does it compare to other top of the line smartphones?
