Easily the 2 best songs on Detroit. Big Sean was on another level on Higher, but I think French had the better verse on Mula.

Nice one, dmize, Borhter Ali's new album is dope - he really is such a talented artist. Also, why did you like the Mula song? I listened to it for like a few seconds and thought it was just another mainstream song. 100 with Royce and Kendrick is better, IMO.

It's the best beat on the tape(Young Chop), and both Sean and French killed it. Whats not to like lol. Btw a few seconds isn't really enough to form an opinion on a song, but that's just me.

Been looking for Sean Price's album to drop, it's long overdue. I think it will be one of my favs come year end.

Wasn't one of my favs from "Psalm 82:v6", but the visual is great.

Updated New God Flow w/ Ghostface at the end. His verse stole the whole album. No one had it on YT, so had to upload it myself.

Fair enough lol, I just immediately skipped it because of the word "Mula".
New Brother Ali is dope - you listened to Joey Bada$$'s latest mixtape? I have it, but don't have the time.

So you drop a terrible album, and then go at your fans. Real smart. Buddens really starting to become a clown. They should just disband because they were all better off solo.

Yeah tbh the chorus is the one part that bothers me on the song.
Yeah it's real good. I had heard a few of the songs, I think most tracks are ones that were left off 1999.

Re: The Official Rap Thread part 2
this is my first time checking out this thread. Impressed with most of the picks.
Here is what im listening to at the moment.
this album is in my opinion in the top 3 of all time. An under rated album from an under rated artist.

Intriguing interview with Mega. I will definitely give his book a read.
It's a real shame the original Firm couldn't stay tight, even though Nature is far from a scrub. Seems there are still issues even after coming together 5/6 years ago.

IMO Crooked is the only artist who performs better with the group. Budden and, to a lesser extent Royce, I've always felt the opposite. Budden's music is made for a solo act.
No doubt the tape is better than the album too.

Miss that version of X. Has anyone heard his new album that dropped last week, Undisputed? Haven't checked it out yet but I don't have high hopes.

I'm with you, dmize, that's the only reason I haven't downloaded it. The guy had the potential to become a phenomenal rapper, IMO.

I've only heard a track or two from the album so far. Haven't downloaded in full, but have read reviews and most suggest it's not near his best work.
I would say he established himself to that level for those 5 or so years he was shipping out albums, especially the first 2. Had he left the game for good after "Grand Champ", he would have kept his legacy intact.

K.Dot warming up for his release come October 22. Should definitely be an album of the year contender.

"Wu-Block" to finally drop next month I think October 9. Really keen to see what producers are working on it.

Re: The Official Rap Thread part 2
Just finished listening to the whole album and WOW, blown away.
I'll do a quick track breakdown:
1. Ayesha says - 4.5/5 Spoken word intro but was still quite dope.
2. Strange Fruition - 5/5 Just ridiculous, great way to start off the album.
3. ITAL - 4.5/5
4. Around My Way - 4.5/5
5. Audubon Ballroom - 5/5 Amazing
6. Bitch Bad - 4/5
7. Lamborghini Angels - 5/5
8. Put Em Up - 5/5 Best track on the album probably, but you can make a case for Audubon, Form Follows Function, Cold War, or Hood Now. Great beat, lyrically Lupe destroys it.
9. Heart Donor - 4.5/5 Great song only reason it's not a 5/5 for me is the chorus.
10. How Dare You - 4/5 Could be one of his singles, not sure.
11. Battle Scars - 5/5 Personally I love the track and chorus but I have read others saying it's not a great track. I disagree
12. Brave Heart - 4/5 More amazing production, more Lupe murking the track, but isn't as good as the rest of the album imo
13. Form Follows Function - 5/5 Incredible, after Cold War and Put Em Up this is my 3rd favorite
14. Cold War - 5/5 One of Lupe's deepest songs, also one of his best. Lyrics, beat, chorus everythings perfect
15. Unforgivable Youth - 4.5/5
16. Hood Now - 5/5 Great way to close out the album
Really the only part of the album that has skippable tracks are near the middle, and even then they're still good songs. Rest of the album is awesome.
Cop this if you can on Tuesday I know I will be
at this point for me it's:
1a. Life is Good
1b. F&L 2
then everything else. Hoping Good Kid M.A.A.D City will end up top 3.
