How highly do you rate Rivaldo?

He was one of the greatest players with R9 for Brazil in my opinion. His name goes under like Eto'o over the years but he was a monster for Brazil eco smile

He's also someone the current Farca misses to be really exciting. He could pull goals out of his a** from midfield in many ways eco smile

I think it was better than Ronaldinho tbh, was definitely more consistent and considering he basically kept Barca in the top 4 on his back in his prime.

Was truly a WC player and probably one of those that get forgotten about through history like Laudrup etc etc

Anyway, a great player..he won the world player of the year at his peak and really deserved it. People dont remeber, there was a point where he was the best player in the world.

Saved our backside many times, a fantastic player and its a shame he was forced out.

Much better than shevchenko, Cr7 ,henry, even ronaldinho ( more regular ), almost equal with ronaldo R9 ( didn't get the hype )

What i meant Dani which i didnt explain very well is that Ronaldinho wouldnt have done better than Rivaldo in that Barca team who carried on many occasions.

He was more consistent than Ronaldinho and also better at the National level.

Obviously Ronaldinho was more talented and a better player to be frank.

Ronaldinho's tricks were to hard to understand he used them perfectly in barca but in national team nobody understood his tricks thats why he was not same in NT. but rivaldo didnt depend on tricks he just was monster. that brazil team would be only team to compete with current spain i think

Yeah thats fair.

But I wouldnt blame Rivaldo or Dinho if they didnt do well, Ronaldinho carried us his first season to 4th or 3rd, I cant remember, while having a worse team then Rivaldo ever had bar his first season maybe.

Yeah, he was probably better overall for Brazil.

But peak to peak, as hard as it is to believe because Rivaldo was that good, Ronaldinho was at least a level above that.

I rate him extremely high. Probably more down to earth than Ronaldinho.... its too bad he flopped so badly when he went to Milan....but then hes done well in Asia etc....a true professional...

I'll always remember him always have a love of shooting from extreme long range, and actually beating Schmichael twice in a game, from the exact position! Dont see Schmichael getting pwned like that ever! Very Happy

He was really exciting to watch, and he was Barca's cornerstone in the early 2000's. Kluivert, Saviola, Rivaldo, Cocu, De Boer, Enrique, Overmars...

I wonder if the post 2006 Barca fans even saw them play together. I liked Barca back then more than today.
