Because you cannot convince people struck by confirmation bias with facts, logic, or reason.

Also, a strategical error is giving too much evidence, which only hardens the resolve of the person denying facts and/or logic.

So Senor Penguin might as well drink a nice cool ice tea instead of trying to argue with a brick wall.

I would link an actual study on confirmation bias, but unless you guys know German, Wikipedia will have to do.

Yeah, your right, giving too much eveidence is a bad idea, even if Jesus himself showed up in front of everyone there would still be many who would doubt it and say that they just imagined it all, the human mind can be ridiculous sometimes :facepalm:

Because I have not only given him facts, but also the names of high ranking historians/theologians etc who share my view. I haven't read his reply in the other thread yet, but I doubt he has given me the same amount of reputable names as I gave him.

You haven't given facts, strictly speaking you have given evidence, most, if not all, of that evidence was in dire need of being interpreted as evidence, otherwise it would've just been random, non-connected factoids.

If I am mistaken it was something by Scott Adams what he said about 7 8 years ago. I memorized it and never forgot and always say that when people have a fight over religion and such things. I believe it is the truth as a religion is very flexible.

I was just pretty sure he said something very similar recently, but I might be mistaken, or he might have been quoting himself, I just had a random bit of memory there.
