Has agreed with Nice. Not a loan as he and Newcastle cancelled the remaining time on the contract.
The length of the contract is not known yet.. but he is scheduled to take his medical early next week.
Might have to go see Nice now. He's fun to watch and, with Plea and Carlos Eduardo, they're worth a watch. I like the kid Mendy too in the midfield.
Nice team for Nice now if Ben Arfa is there mentally.

I'll let you gloat but this really is Pardew's fault, just like it is with Yanga-Mbiwa and countless others.
I can only hope the new manager doesn’t waste all the talent away like Pardew has.
I'll miss you Hatem

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
The key for Ben Arfa is that, playing in France, he gets a much better chance of cleaning his name as long as he acts well and plays well. It's a big if though as he's really emotionally not that stable... in his interviews, you can tell that something isn't exactly right. He has this need to be spectacular before being a good football player and he gets depressed if he's not spectacular. He needs to do the fundamentals first and he'll be spectacular naturally. Hope he finally gets it.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
I hope he'll do well at Nice, but feels like he wasted his talent and opportunity. He's 27 and should be in his prime, but has had to return to France, to a mid-table club, while his two ex-French-clubs are 1st (Lyon) and 2nd (Marseille) in the table.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
his family is fractured as his agent is a POS.... basically pitted Hatem and his father against each other so they don't speak. Has no contact. Having that kind of instability off the pitch is not something he can handle.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
Anyway......
http://www.nufc.com/html/2011-12html/2011-12-10norwich-a.html
Pardew " We accepted that we weren't going to keep a clean sheet and that we had to score goals."
So Gosling, Sammy, Ferguson, Etc etc where more likely to score? *bleep* off.
I'd blame Ben Arfa more if *bleep* wasn't treating him like shit literally years before Hatem started fighting back.
I'll never let assholes rewrite history about what went down with HBA and Pardew. Pardew was treating him like vermin every chance he got, starting a whole host of footballing legends in his place, players such as Raylor, Gosling, Shola, his mum, etc. *bleep*.
Even Ranger got back into the team. Probably the worst pro we've ever employed was forgiven while Hatem wasn't.

So it's done... had the official press conference a couple of hours ago and he's going to wear the number 4 at Nice.
Good luck to him. Hope he turns it around.
Btw, nice teams all around me now with OM, Nice and Monaco all within 1,5 hours of where i live lol. Can get to all these places by train too.

Sounds like the guy has indeed been thoroughly *bleep* over by Newcastle.
Fifa has prevented Nice from registering new signing Hatem Ben Arfa.
Ben Arfa, 27, joined the Ligue 1 club on an 18-month deal after his loan at Hull City ended and his Newcastle United contract was terminated.
The world governing body's transfer rules prevent a player from appearing for more than two clubs in one season.
The midfielder played eight games for Hull and one for Newcastle's under-21s earlier this season, with Fifa ruling the latter to be an official match.
The France international, a free agent after his release from Newcastle, joined Nice on 5 January, but was not available for Saturday's 3-1 win against Lorient as he awaited international clearance.
The delay centred around article 5.3 of Fifa's regulations on the status and transfer of players, which states: "Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season.
"During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs."
A statement on Nice's website confirmed the club had received a copy of correspondence sent by Fifa to the French Football Federation.
It said that contrary to the position of the Football Association in England, Fifa had classed the under-21 match for Newcastle United as "official".
The development leaves Ben Arfa, who has played for his country 13 times, in limbo.
Hull cancelled his loan deal after he fell out of favour with manager Steve Bruce.
Newcastle confirmed the day before he joined Nice that both parties had reached an agreement to terminate his contract with immediate effect and by mutual consent.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
Yeah but the LFP in France has the last say and they are holding a hearing on Tuesday to decide whether to overturn the FIFA decision on Ben Arfa:

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
Obviously that FIFA rule isn't originally meant to be about reserve teams or under 21's, so I hope common sense will prevail and he'll be able to play for Nice this season.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
I agree. It's a bit ridiculous to count one Newcastle U21 game as 'featuring for another club'. Then again it's strange that the rules wouldn't be clear about this and FAs can have different interpretation than FIFA
And then, there's another scenario: Ben Arfa can't join Nice, Newcastle have to reinstate his contract, Garde becomes manager and integrates him well, Ben Arfa starts beasting weekly and the Dear Leader becomes a happy man.

Re: Hatem Ben Arfa
The Remi Garde thing is taking too long imo... it's either being negotiated like crap or it's not going to happen. Either way, i don't know what Newcastle is doing as usual
Garde wants his own staff (obviously) and Newcastle are against it ( )... if Newcastle won't allow it, Garde won't accept the job apparently. Does Newcastle expect anyone of note to take the job if he can't choose his own staff??
