That's somewhat surprising, wasn't there a stat out there that said that Xavi hasn't assisted Messi for 18+ months?

Interesting that he assisted Saviola so many times. I would have expected Eto'o to be number two.

I thought he'd made more assists too, but I guess he generally plays deep and its more often Messi in the final third.

Worth watching, especially the first 5 years that are less remembered. This proves what I always said, Xavi has been the same player since he was 20, and especially since Radomir Antic / Rijkaard came. People say he was "crap" before 2008 because 06/07 and 07/08 were poor seasons forXavi, although it is normal as all Barça played like shit and nobody moved. A player who relies on passing, relies on his teammates more than any other player to perform.
