donttreadonred wrote:No way he'd start right off the bat at Newcastle. Ba and Ben Arfa are doing a heckuva job at the moment. Moreover, the system finally seems to really suit the players.
@Mole: Really interesting analysis of the direction Pardew's taking. LB and CM are obvious areas for improvement. Guthrie has been holding his own, but is similar to us playing Spearing (it's out of need, not selection). Although Simpson has played well this season, he's never quite convinced me, either. CB is a little different. I thought Taylor was quite solid until he got injured. I'm assuming when you wrote that up that you see Taylor moving to 3rd choice, allowing a younger, more talented center-half to start.
Every team that has aspirations in Europe or wants to be in the shake up needs 3 quality CB's and Taylor's injury history means i wouldnt rely on him being fit all year anyway.
We dont have a LB in the whole squad, Santon, Jonas, Taylor etc etc can all play there but its not thier natural positions.
CM is needed because we dont have a player to link the attack between Cabaye and Tiote and the front 3 basically a CM/AM hybrid and i assume by reading the links and the way the club speaks thats the type of midfielder we will buy.
Also a young forward will be bought, thats why we have been linked with the likes of Zaha, Hoilett, Giudetti and Morata.
Plus some youth will be promoted and given substanstial game time.
Atleast that is the plan anyway, oh and get Ba on a long term contract too as he is the only important player we have in the squad that is not on a long term contract aslong as some players leaving. ( not key ones)
I think i covered everything you can go back to Hoilett now

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Arsenal signing Hoilett would be a typical signing but we don't really need him for, not even for depth. We've Podolski coming in, and the likelihood is he'll play on the left wing with Gervinho and Chamberlain as alternatives. Walcott will play on the right with, again, Gervinho and Chamberlain as the alternatives. Plus Ryo Miyaichi might get some time in the first team.
I think a top 7 club might be too soon for him, anyway. Maybe someone like Fulham or Sunderland could pick him up.

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
dont forget kalou is coming on the free
apparently it does. im not opposed to getting him but i dont think there's enough interest from arsenal. people dont want us to get vertoghen or m'vila because that's too much depth in those areas....
i didnt know hoilett will go on a free though, but we're supposedly bringing Kalou in on a free too...

he's not coming to arsenal we've got wingers (and ramsey )
newcastle should take him even if they are 4-3-3 now. HBA will get hurt again as usual so he can fill right in there
Doesn't hurt to have depth though. Plus he's free. Why not I say..

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Gladbach to make it into the last 16 & maybe even Quarters.
Dortmund to crash out in the Group Stages agai
Mlapa & Hoilet are good singings for the Forward line. Now if they get Lukaku,it will be a Good Attack. Xhaka will add steel. They are after Luuk De Jong but I think they will get priced out.
Krasic would be a not so good singing.
Gladback are also after the young French CB as Dante replacements,he has a horrible name, cant spell or write it properly

Ignorant and Disrespectful..... Gladbach are in the CL for a reason they are a very good team and better than pretty much any team that wanted him in England.
The only team you could say that wanted him that are better ( atleast according to reports) are Arsenal and lets be real here Hoilett would be a squad player at Arsenal.
Going to Gladbach will prove a very good choice for his career IMO he still has a lot to learn as a footballer and under Favre he will thrive IMO.

I'm not saying Gladbach aren't good, but he could of gone to someone big like Juventus, Inter, Bayern etc.

He was out of contract but in England there's a rule about paying compensation to under 23 out of contract players.
Gladbach payed 800k in compensation, theres talk going around ( not confirmed) that an english club would have had to pay 4m in compensation but outside of england the fee was exactly what Gladbach paid.
MT he isnt good enough for Juventus, Inter or Bayern.... he would sit on the bench at most.

Malaga maybe? Atletico? Plenty of other teams. Surely Liverpool would of paid 4m for Hoilett?

It's not like they won Bundesliga or something like Dortmund, they finished 4th. Bundesliga is competitive. Next season the team that finished 14th or something could get CL.

lol calm down mole, monchengladbach will be playing cl next year about as much as liverpool... they're unseeded for the qualifying round, if they draw something like arsenal or napoli (or whoever pays more for serie a to give them qualification) they're goners

Fact is other than Malaga they are the only team from your post that are in the CL and Bundesliga is no scrub league and they have some very good players....
They are easily better than Liverpool and Atletico... also Atletico dont need wingers its not about this fantasy land packing with as much players as possible.
It's about picking the best team for your career and the best team from who wants you..... Atletico, Malaga etc etc didnt even want him so its irrelevant.
Arsenal have qualified automatically Che and Gladbach could beat Udinese.

Both qualify automatically, the rules are weird...... the only thing Chelsea's CL success did was drop Spurs in the EL.

Napoli I dont think qualified. Udinese got the CL Qualy Spot. Arsenal got through directly.
I think the toughest teams Gladbach could face is Udinese or Malaga & even those I am quite confident they can beat. Gladback are a giant slayer, they have always done brilliantly against big teams with their Super Fast 1 Touch Counter Attacking style.
They have Favre who is a great coach,if they can get together a few good guys in the transfer market then they can pull multiple upsets in the CHL. What worse can they possibly do??? Humiliate themselves like Dortmund??

We dont want him. If you think he is that good then start a petition asking Real to sell Higuain & buy Hoillet.
IN smaller clubs even an average performance gets noticed & highlighted like how it was with Charlie Adam(not saying he is bad). He is nowhere near Bayern quality now. And Inter have Forlan on the bench & Juventus want Cavani/RVP.
