We could have signed him but he asked for far too much in wages.....
Besides considering Ben Arfa plays wide now, we dont need him and there are other position's much more needed of strengthening.

I think there was compensation you needed to pay as well.
He could have rotated with Ba on the left.

He would have been, that was the plan..... but he wanted far too much....
He wanted more than Cisse, Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Ba and Santon
The compensation wouldn't have been an issue really.
Good luck to him at QPR but it's a poor move for his career IMO.

Poor move indeed, but I feel he didn't have many options. A good season at QPR and who knows big clubs might be back in for him.

Tbf he had options..... it was his wage demands that scuppered any chance of them becoming reality.
Not just us either, there was many club's that was interested but not willing to pay what he wants.

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Is this another case of moving to another club to win trophies like some people on here would have us believe is the motive for every player that jumps ship?

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
even if QPR did accept his crazy wages QPR are in essense relegation fodder for next season, so to get him to sing they must've sold him an amazing project/long term plan which undoubtly he was the crowning jewel of

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Surprised he isn't going to a bigger club, if indeed the QPR rumors are true. I don't think he'd be a marquee signing at a top four English club, but he could be a valuable addition. Honestly, I would've been happy to see him at Liverpool. We could use a tricky right winger/right forward to complement Suarez on the left. Though, it sounds like his wage demands are more than most clubs are willing to pay.

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
QPR are strengthening a lot. Actually regardless of whether Hoilett goes there. They have already bought Andrew Johnson and Ji Sung Park. They also got Fabio on loan from Manc United. Rob Green went there as well. I wonder if I'm forgetting somebody...
Okay, that lot may be rather average, but they're still Premier League average, so I don't think QPR will be relegated next season.
And obviously they're blowing their wages-to-turnover ratio through the roof.

Hoilett and Faurlin( who quite possible might not come back the same) aside with Hoilett who does'nt understand what the word team means that is extremely average.
QPR like West Ham and other shit club's are paying a lot of money for what frankly are average players. ( Hoilett aside, who again does'nt understand anything other than dribble the whole team)

Definitely think Liverpool missed out big time if he does sign for QPR, exactly the type of player they need.

Where exactly would he fit in the side if Borini joins?
Borini - Carroll - Suarez
Doesn't leave a lot of room for him, unless he's up for a rotation spot.

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Think the Monchegladbach thing was they offered him a contract but he seems to have not taken it.
RedOranje even in a rotational role he would play a lot of games between cup matches and sub appearances.
I guess Sterling will be seeing some 1st team action this year though?

Re: Where should Hoilett go?
Sterling and Suso both seem to be on the fringes of a first team breakthrough. It will all depend on what Rodgers thinks of them when the squad is fully assembled again.
EDIT: Also, the question is whether Hoilett would be happy with a rotation role, not whether we'd be want him. I'm fairly certain if offered the opportunity the club would be more than happy to have him in the squad as an option.
