Theo has to do those fakes and feints to beat the defenders. He has pace and he will be able to pull it off very well. He does not need to practice tricks or skills etc.

Just get him to watch a couple of Figo videos and ask him to practice it in training.

Figo was not really fast and Walcott has enough control on the ball to start being consistent at it. Plus Walcott has other tools in his arsenal (no pun).

He should ATLEAST be given a fair shot in the middle. We gave Arshavin that role for a while ffs!!

That's so true. If he could become consistent in his game, he could be outstanding. Hopefully he can find that consistency over the next year or two. Fortunately, he's only 23 even though he's seemingly been at Arsenal forever.

Love this guy, pace, trickery, dribbling, incredible technique on the ball 1 on 1 finishing. Great goalscoring record when played in his best position centrally.

Big season ahead of him. For god's sake Arsene, please don't stick him on the wing, play him in his best position in front of Alexis/Özil/Ramsey/Cazorla and watch him flourish. We've tried the big man and it hasn't worked out in any way. It's time for Welbeck Walcott to get the same kind of trust.

If you watch his performances early on last season, his movement was incredible. He found himself in front of goal with the ball countless times. His movement has always been good, it's just that there's no conviction in anything he does anymore. 12/13 when he was playing for a new contract he was decisive and clinical. 13/14 before injury it was the same. But since he's come back from that ACL he's become weak again.

Watching him this pre-season really hammers that home. The amount of time he gets in good positions to effect the game but takes too long, or produces a poor shot, or just simply turns the ball over. That latter issue becomes more problematic for us because if he's not producing in the final third it means he's not doing anything. Our overall play suffers by having a player who can't look after the ball well enough in attack.

So now we have a player that lacks the instincts of a proper 9 but also lacks the required technical ability to play in an Arsenal midfield. His strengths are his running in behind but now he's not scoring anymore. What are we supposed to do with this guy?

Congrats Wenger.. you have guided him to make the correct decision after 10 years at this club..
now he can start learning his trade as an orthodox RW.. but not sure whether this should happen at Arsenal..
