Mad Men Empty Mad Men

Post by Le Samourai Wed Dec 28, 2011 3:50 pm

So I've been watching this non-stop for the past 2 days and just finished all 4 seasons.

All I have to say is Don Draper

If you're getting tired of serial drama and you're looking for something with more of a seasonal arc this is the show....... :coffee:

I love period drama, what i love about Mad Men is how the story flows so naturally, you feel like watching one big piece of Don Draper life. When I watched 4 seasons on DVD, I didn't feel the pause between episodes at all, just one long and interesting story. It's ashamed, John Hamm never get an Emmy for Don role, a bit hard to up against Bryan Cranston every year.

Been watching it from scratch for the last 3 weeks or so. I'm now on Season 4, Ep 11.

The wire is not a bore-fest by any stretch of the imagination. That, sir, is blasphemy.

As for Mad Men, just finished season 4 and I honestly think this show has lost some gusto.

It's still fantastic, but it's slowed down quite a bit. Don's still a bawss though...

Characters in the Wire are so boring in the first couple of episodes, and there doesnt seem to be much character development going on at all.

Anyways can't wait to start Mad Men.....I really don't know what to expect, have heard some great things though

All i can say is stick to Wire, it will pay off at the end. Mad men is also slow paced so hopefully that's your cup of tea.

The Wire is/was a really tough project.

THere are wayyyy too many charachters and plot lines / story arcs to rush them through.....

they are all building....
