All well and good asking for quality signings but it's difficult in the January window. All the best players that are realistic for us to sign are reluctant to move now. Arshavin at the time of signing was already a big fish in a small pond and wanted to move anyway. And the three big money transfer that were made last season were Luiz, Carroll and Torres and just look at the impact they've made at their new clubs.

Richardson is a decent player. Not good enough to be a consistent starter for our sort of level, but I can see the thinking behind the enquiry: he can play left back and left wing, the two positions we need cover for, has experienced and is Premier League ready.

Again, though, at this time of year you've got to look past the names and calibre of the players and realise that it's exceptionally difficult to get good players during this period. On top of that, you've got bare in mind the long-term. In this case, if we signed an established left back of good quality, we're going to end up with three left backs next season all in need of first team football.

Law is the 'deal-breaker', the guy Arsene sends out to complete the deals. You think he is doing a good job?

I can't say. I don't know the process he has to go through, or anything like that.

If you want to judge him by quickness of transfers, he seemed to do alright at the end of the summer with Park, Santos, Mertesacker and Arteta, did he not? Assuming he was involved in those deals, of course.

If I remember right, we didn't miss out on anybody for taking too long, but for not paying up. And I've seen conflicting reports about who decides how much we pay for these guys.

What are you complaining about exactly? No, the club hasn't paid off its debts. There've been no instances this January window of stingyness. A delay in the completion of a transfer is not stingyness, if that's what you're referring to.
