At least I found it odd, I think he shows how well he moves through the lines as well.

In the first 3 games of the season Pepe leads Real Madrid in steals with 40 (13/pg). Thats 18 more than his CB defensive partner Carvalho (who has 22) who has played the exact same amount of time.

Players are aware of his passing and his scoring. You can't play that close to him because he'll just one touch flick it to a teammate. By the time you come up to foul, the ball is gone and you're in trouble even if you manage to foul. There's more to lose by trying to foul because of his great passing efficiency. When he goes for goal, he's usually in the box or very close to it... not the best place to foul.

His vision and decision making are huge factors. He won't go at you unless you block away the passing lanes because he will definitely hit an open teammate. But if you're focused on defending the pass, you can't be that aggressive on the player and you're on your heels when he decides to take you on with his dribbling or shot.

He's a nightmare to defend because he's so smart and has all the skills.

Cristiano has scored 15 goals in the last six matchdays of LigaBBVA, more than any TEAM (exc. RM) in the same period (Sevilla, 14)

Thats pretty amazing....

Which statistics? Because the only that really matters is the one that starts with G and ends with oal.

I think what he's saying is that CR7 is our worst passer statistically so far (68%... worst than Di Maria lol). Just to compare, Ozil is at 82%, Benz 83% and Di Maria 75%. He has 4 goals... but it's taken him 25 shots (16% which is meh).

Of course, stats don't take into account pitch impact. And CR7's pitch impact is huge.

If only it was all about goals ,he isnt a striker , for a left midfielder passing accuracy is important.68% is very low for a Top player.

No wonder we chokes against Barca,we arent practiced enough to do things efficiently with limited possession.

not only that adit, but other teams that we meet arent on the same level as barca when it comes to efficiency, and we well we need 20 shots for one goal no wonder barca always wins against us

i will never forget how many chances benz got in the supercopa compared to brca as a whole it was embarrasing to say the least

Yeah. Both Benz and CR7 went 1 goal on 13 shots in the supercopa each. CR7 had zero assists while Benz had 2 however. CR7's pitch impact is rally bad against Barca while Benz really lifted his. Ozil and Di Maria were pretty poor statistically in supercopa too.

We created a lot of chances, but just didn't finish things off.

I take that back... CR7 has scored 4 goals on 33 shots, which is a putrid 12.1%, to go with his 68% passing.

Its not efficiency in final third alone, our over all efficiency is not great, and it will bite us in the end.Even in final third we sometimes rush or makes an unnecessary dribble/pass only to give away the ball for a counter,we are almost the same team last year as i predicted,Dont expect much better tactical football than last year because we are not that much tactically instructed team in attack.Though player position understanding can be improved.

Against Levante, Ozil playing just 20mins had more assists to shots than anyone else on the night with 3.

On the last 12 occasions (since 77/78) that R Madrid have lost 1 of their opening 3 games, they have failed to win the league.

Who were the red cards? Pepe of course. Marcelo too. Lass didn't have any last year. Ramos and Khedira?

Ramos was always getting reds even before Jose came. If anything Sergio has gotten better.

I remember Arbeloa getting a stupid red card against Getafe for a "handball" even though the ball hit his shoulder.

Most of the reds were against Barcelona I imagine and I wouldn't look too deeply into that, we are a different team when we play them.

Despite recent criticism and less playing time than most Ozil has created more chances at goal in the last two games than anyone else at Real Madrid with 5. Next highest is Xabi Alonso with 3.
