Re: Champions League Last 16 Draw and Europa League Last 32 Draw: Live
didnt the ref disallow a legit goal for barca though in that 2-1?+ we only lost because of a dive from xavi.Iceman wrote:Unlike Milan, Arsenal actually beat Barca last season. There have been a lot of changes, but the team right now is a lot more defensively secure than it was last season and we are getting better offensively with each passing game. If RVP is fit, then I rate our chances to be really high.
Anyways why are we discussing who gave barca a run for their money?lol
Even though Arsenal is better defensively now i think that you guys lost attacking power and i really dont see RVP performing very well considering that (IMO) we have the best CB duo in the world in Nesta-T. Silva. My main worry comes from Walcott.

Arsenal's width will give Milan loads of problems if they don't win the midfield battle.
Tactically a very interesting tie.

walcott against milans slow full backs will be interesting, also ibra will really test arsenals record of no set piece conceded with the head

Well you don't know that for sure.
And even if they don't it doesn't mean they'll definitely lose.

I don't see Ibra performing in a CB partnership formed of Vermaelen and one of Koscielny/Mertesacker either. It's not really about performing though, when it comes to Ibra and RVP. It's about taking that one chance that will come to them and scoring it. Even if they perform badly, as long as they score, then their job is done. LB is a problem for both teams, but much more so with Milan than it is for us because, and let's face it here, Gibbs>>>Antonini.
It's going to be an exciting match, but if our offense keeps on improving as it has been for the past month, then I see us winning. We just need to be more clinical.

Almunia always performs like Buffon against Barca, i dont get it lol.......
Anyways my predictions on who will go through.....
Apoel beat Lyon
Chelsea beat Napoli ( mind you this depends on AVB's tactics i could easily going it the other way)
Arsenal beat Milan
Bayern beat Basel
Barca beat Leverkusen
Madrid beat CSKA
Benfica beat Zenit
Marseille beat Inter ( this depends on whether Vibe starts the thread or not )
Apoel v Marseille final :lucas:

My bad.
But what I do remember, it was Verms fault for his 2nd goal.

Leno? What happened to Rene Adler? I know he was touted as a future goal keeping star, he dropped off the radar? Unless Leno is Adler, I don't know

Leverkusen are going to get hammered and show the inferior quality of the rest of the Bundesliga teams other than Bayern as far as Champions league is concerned.
But even i am hoping the opposite happens though.I always cheer for the underdog.

Gotta feel for Leverkusen. I can't completely write them off though. It's improbable that they'll get past the champs, but never impossible.
A strong showing at home is a must though.
