Well, half of those countries have incredibly high GDP per capita, it's not that surprising that they'd score higher in the "happiness" index.

i really dont think GDP can measure happiness, that basically means that poor people arent happy, we all know that money doesnt always bring happiness, quite the contraryBarrileteCosmico wrote:Well, half of those countries have incredibly high GDP per capita, it's not that surprising that they'd score higher in the "happiness" index.

Agree with Ganso. I know plenty of dirt poor people who are happier than anyone. Hell, the country overall is always in an optimist mood even while getting frakked in the ass.

I don't think GDP is part of the index, I just think it's intuitive that if a poor person's problem in America is "should I buy AC or an iphone?" whereas in some other places in the world is "I wonder how much I'll get to eat today..." then it follows that there would be a correlation between happiness and money, to an extent.Ganso wrote:i really dont think GDP can measure happiness, that basically means that poor people arent happy, we all know that money doesnt always bring happiness, quite the contrary

I'm pretty sure there are A LOT MORE factors that go into happiness than money... Heh.
