A reserve player we released on a free is set to become Historypool's marquee signing of 2012
In all unbiased seriousness though, I reeeeeally hope the decision to let him go doesn't come back to bite us...

Apparently Oscar shares the same agent with Luiz and Piazon
Someone said Alex and Rambo too but Graham from WAGNH wasn't sure.

Oscar looks like he will be joining very shortly. Exciting stuff.
We are going to place another bid for Schurrle too.

Excited about Oscar, looks to be a class player. Who do you guys think will be playing on the right or do we assume Rami will keep his place there? We're going to be oozing talent if we get these guys.

Re: Rumour Mill
I am of the opinion we will play a christmas tree formation:
With Turnbull, Malouda and Ferreira making up the 25.
Oscar and play a slightly more attacking CM role ala Iniesta while Ramires and Mikel provide defensive cover. Cole, Ivanovic, Maicon and Bertrand provide width down the wings with HazMat staying more centrally most of the time.
Cech
Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole
Ramires Mikel Oscar
HazMat
Torres
2nd:
Hilario
Maicon Hutchinson Cahill Bertrand
Essien Romeu Lampard
Meireles Marin
Sturridge
Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole
Ramires Mikel Oscar
HazMat
Torres

Re: Rumour Mill
Yeah looks pretty good. So in that formation is most of the scoring burden on Torres or would we expect HazMat to be chipping in a decent amount.

Re: Rumour Mill
I think Hazard will surprise all with his scoring ability. Ramires will score a few too but overall it will be Torres. If I was to make a rough guess it would be for the goal totals next season it would be:
Torres ~20
Hazard ~15
Lampard ~10
Mata ~10
Ramires ~10
Sturridge ~13
I just drew up how I think their run patterns will work:
Make your football formation
Note: Only Maicon will attack at RB, Ivanovic can stay as Ramires can provide the width.
Torres ~20
Hazard ~15
Lampard ~10
Mata ~10
Ramires ~10
Sturridge ~13

According to the Daily Fail, Barca are considering buying back Romeu, not quotes or scources in the article so it must be bull.
Doubt he would leave anyway.

"Speaking to Calciomercato.it - Envoy for the Inter Sky - Massimiliano Nebuloni has issued some statements regarding market movements of the Nerazzurri. "Maicon was to appear today in retreat - these are his words - but his arrival was delayed until tomorrow. His agent is negotiating with Chelsea."
weird google translate, Here is the original Italian Quote maybe some italian members can Translate it.

I believe he will sign soon.

Your runs are interesting, but u should remember that Torres always drifts wide, almost all the time to the left wing. When that happens Hazard/Mata will be going forward into the box.
Re: Rumour Mill
Yeah, I didn't put HazMat's runs in there because I believe they will be all over the place.

Re: Rumour Mill
Swap Oscar with Lampard and you will be more accurate imo, look at you all embracing my xmas tree formation you lot hated when I first suggested it .
Oscar will get a lot of minutes for sure, but there's no way he's walking into the team as a starter ahead of Lampard. Also there's the Mikel/Romeu thing, Mikel did look very good in the pivot, but as the lone holder for me he's always been a bit meh. Romeu was opposite looked great lone holder but shite in pivot, so it will be interesting to see what RDM does if he does play that formation.
There is a lot of information on Oscar positional wise, saying that he's never played deeper. He's played as AM, SS and even out wide, but wit all his attributes I have no doubt he will be able to transition to a deeper position, but then again we have no idea what the club sees his role as.

Re: Rumour Mill
Don't know about a 4 year deal. 3 years seems a tad bit much for a 31 year old as well. 2 years is perfect for me.

Re: Rumour Mill
Oscar played the under 20 world cup as a CM so he certainly can play there. I believe he can be a Iniesta/Modric type CM.
Romeu certainly is better as a lone DM, I would start him if I was RDM.
And I think 4 years for Maicon is way too much. 3 is perfect.

Re: Rumour Mill
One other thing I've noticed with Oscar is his tendency to play deeper now as opposed to a year ago. In the U20 World Cup last summer, Oscar acted almost like a second striker for much of the tournament
Guess Ganso can give us more details.

Both good reads. Second one is smaller and more to the point but I enjoyed both.
He is a real gem, I do hope we sign him.

he played as a CM in a 3 man midfield in the u20 WC. he was playing almost a Pirlo-esque DM role vs Spain.he played as a winger/AM in the u20 Copa America in 2010
