Serie A 2011-12 starts Aug 28

The 2011-12 Serie A season kicks off and concludes with evening rounds on August 28 and May 13 with a long winter break.

Today’s meeting of the top flight clubs ratified the dates of the new campaign.

The opening round is on August 28 with two Saturday games at 18.00 and 20.00 UK time, one at 18.00 on Sunday and the rest at 20.00.

There will be a long Christmas break from December 19 to January 7, while the League ends on May 13, 2012 with all the kick-offs at 20.00 UK time.

The dates for the Coppa Italia were also mapped out, starting on August 14 and joined by Serie A sides in November.

The top seeds enter the fray in January, while the one-off Final is again at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico on May 20.

This was all confirmed after Atalanta, Siena and Novara were promoted from Serie B.

Napoli have the potential to be very good, if Hugo is put in jail for his accident i'd say Sanatacroce right in that spot, I feel that they are only lacking a good CM to become a title fighter. Do they still own Cigarini? He could slot in their well, but we have to see what the market brings.
