Yeh that was a punch. He got frustrated with the player holding him, however at the end of the day he reacted the wrong way.

Apparently he's going to face disciplinary action for it.

Che is right. What Suarez did was inappropriate but Jara was acting like a tool and deserved that punch.

Yeah Jara was hugging him a little too tightly but that kind of stuff happens every corner and it doesn't justify punching him, just run your way out of his arms its that simple.

screw that... the sport is pussified enough as it is, grown men should be allowed to settle their differences in a physical confrontation... hell if being punched in the face would discourage defenders from bearhugging forwards during set pieces i'd actively encourage it

...or i've just been watching way too much hockey since nhl came back hmm

In south America a punch to the face is a sign of affection

Often given after a friendly hug like Jara was giving him.

After the match they went out for a couple of Coronas and a shared a fried Chinchilla.

He had a good run for around a month, I think the last controversial offense was stepping on that Zenit defenders back. So you see, he's improving.

The disgrace here is that Suarez has been witch hunted from the start of his journey in the English Savage League. Wayne Rooney has committed numerous atrocities, and yet remains unblemished. As usual the foreign players shoulder unnecessary blame in England. I hope for the sake of his career he moves to Spain or Germany, were only his football will be allowed to do the talking. I say this with heavy heart as I am a quiet supporter of Liverpool and what Brenden Rodgers is trying to instill in the club.

Compared to Suarez, yes. Wayne Rooney is stillheld upin high regard as the white hope of the ever failing English football. The man is the worst kind of footballer. He held his club to ransom, even though it was the equally detestable Manchester United, it still irked me. Suarez is in the news papers everyday from what my English friends tell me. I hope Liverpool win the English Savage League in a few years so Suarez can get some form of compensation for the emotional abuse he is subjected to everyday he wakes up in to play for that backward League. I look forward to your response.
