Real Madrid to add more players in a bid to speed up part-exchange deal for Benfica's Fabio Coentrao - report
The Spanish capital club are interested in wrapping up a deal as quickly as possible, and may throw more than one player into the deal to do so

Real Madrid will finalise a deal with Benfica for left-back Fabio Coentrao in the next few days, Spanish news daily Marca claims.

The Spanish giants have been strongly linked with Coentrao since the end of last season, with the player himself making no secret of his wish to work under compatriot Jose Mourinho.

The two clubs have been locked in talks over the last weeks about the transfer fee, as Madrid are unwilling to meet the €30m release clause attached to Coentrao's contract, which expires in 2016.

Spanish sources have suggested that Madrid do want want to pay more than €25 million for Coentrao and are willing to include defender Ezequiel Garay as makeweight in a bid to convince Benfica to part company with the gifted full-back.

In addition to Garay, Marca today reports the Spanish side may throw another player into the deal, with midfielder Pablo Sarabia believed to be a preferred target of Benfica coach Jorge Jesus.

It has also been said that Benfica have dispatched scouts to check on Sarabia on a number of occasions throughout the last two seasons, and the inclusion of the 19-year-old in the deal may lead negotiations for Coentrao to a successful end next week.

Coentrao is one of those that will fight to the very end like Goldenball. He is a kind of player that has the personality all players should have for their team. Unless he can adapt well to RB unfortunately he wont be needed.

That is too much. Even 25 + Garay seems just a little excessive to me.

So you're seriously suggesting that we should happily pay around 25mil for a backup player? The cash we are planning to use to buy Agüero and Coentrao could be used to get any RB in the world, but NOOOOOOO! We have to buy players in positions where we are already fine.

More than Morata, i don't want Sarabia to go. This kid is the gem of our youth system imo.

I would have been happy signing Monreal from Osasuna (LB backup) and focusing on a more specialised RB to take the place of Ramos (CB).

I guess we'll have to trust Mourinho with his idea of Coentrao as a RB. It's certainty an interesting experiment, considering his lack of experience in the role.

That's the thing... he's never played RB. A lot of money to spend on an experiment.

Garay saying he wants to go to benfica now, and his agent is currently negotiating.

Looks like Coentrao = 25m + garay or 20m + garay + sarabia.

trading with garay is more than enough, and 25+player is blasphemy enough

I dnt like the way they play, it's not something i want for that kid. Villarreal is so much better as a fit. Any team that play a possession oriented game. He needs to develop his strength and stay close to his style imo.
