OMG! O_O

i knew this show was f*cking epic the moment i watched the 1st episode.

it was only 10 episodes, but i can already rank it in my top 5 series of all time (and im a series-aholic, even if the terms doesnt exist lol)

when does season 2 begins?! i cant f*king wait!

nah, i liked the 1st 2 seasons, but thats it.

its series like Rome, Lost (as frustranting as it could get lol), Malcolm in the middle, The wire, The Office, DBZ..... that are in my top 5-10,

i have a question for Barrilete (and the others who have read the books)

given that now i want to read them (1yr waiting for next season is too long lol),
can i directly begin from the book 2 (A Clash of Kings)?
by that i mean: did season 1 talked about everything that was in the 1st book?

It's hard to say... a few things are different, and a lot of details and context are missing. I would recommend reading a game of thrones first, but I think a clash of kings is readable after the series. I just think you would be lost a lot of times. So, if you can read AGoT, if you're not willing to read 900 pages then you can try, and probably understand a lot, but I think the experience would not be as rich.

anyway, it will be a good thing for me, as i didnt read too much books these past years (due to lack of free time, but mostly to laziness lol)

What an insightful post.

From what I've read, George Martin will be directing the huge battle that takes place in a Clash of Kings. I don't know much details, but you guys who've read the book must know what I'm talking about. Must be the Battle of Kings landing.

Hope they actually do it right and not have all the combat off screen...

Budget would be huge though, tbh I'm ok with drama element of the show w/o any epic fight scene if that's what it takes to prolong the series ( Don't want another Rome). Same go with Spartacus, now that they're done with arena the only thing left is the rebellion war which might be epic fail judging from a flop Camelot.

We know we have at least one more season, and I just care about them making it right. Closure could be obtained in the books.

btw regarding the second season, the director of the last 2 episodes has been hired to do 4/10 episodes next season. Fantastic decision, the guy has been kicking ass and taking names in those last 2 episodes. Got every detail right.

I have shown tremendous self restraint by not looking up whether it is true or not and I plan to continue to carry on that way

If it actually is true I'm just going to lose it because that would effectively inform me as to what happens in basically the biggest single plot line in the series...
