Players who's attributes don't resemble their country of birth's playing style
Inspired by goal.com's latest article.
Which players don't resemble the type of football from their motherland and instead what type of football do they resemble in terms of countries
Here's a few
Gattuso- England
Cambiasso- Italian
Abate- England

Ramirez-He can run and run and run and run and run, and run some more, but he has the technique of the fat Sunday League centre half on your local pub team.
So bad is Ramires' passing that one attempted through ball during the Copa America was 50 yards overhit. Must have been secretly trained in the English youth system where all skilful midfielders are expertly told they are not good enough.
made me chuckle

Ramires instantly springs to mind.
I'll also echo the words of Dunga about Pirlo in a recent interview. He called him "Juve's true Brazilian". He's quite spot on in that regard.

If I didn't already know better I would never believe Scholes was English...too technically gifted
I would've thought he was Scottish or Irish (and not just cause of the hair)

I object! I can't see German players insulting their fans and misbehaving the way Rooney does.Ganso wrote:Rooney-German

Plays for Spain and is Spanish by nationality. Nonetheless, the Basque are pretty unique. Athletic Bilbao have an English history and an English style of play.bhends wrote:Senor Penguin wrote:Fernando Llorente - Spain.

Goetze, Oezil and all these technically talented guys aren't really usual German guys, IMO. They're more Spanish or something.
Mueller is as German as you get, though.

Re: Players who's attributes don't resemble their country of birth's playing style
Well, the "problem" with Germany is that the German NT "re-invented" themselves after 2000 and threw the classical stereotypes (German "panzers" rolling over the opponents even though the others are actually better) overboard and instead went from panzers to elegant sport cars (aka Audi: "Vorsprung durch Technik" - "advantage through technique/technology"). ^^ But no matter what kind of vehicle - it is efficient of courseSushi Master wrote:Goetze, Oezil and all these technically talented guys aren't really usual German guys, IMO. I've always thought that George best had the playing style and the appearance of an Argentine.
Looks more latin than brittish for me.
