Taiwo to be sold in January?

Why are we selling Taiwo in January, I read it on Goal.com earlier and was really upset, we haven't given him a chance to prove himself. Worst of all we are getting Maxwell instead? A 30 year old left back who cannot defend. If we where to sell Taiwo it would be because of his defending, why would we replace him with someone who is 4 years older, a 3rd choice left back for Barcelona who cannot defend...I mean if we where getting Criscito or getting back or a world class left back or even calling D.Vila back, then fine that would be awesome, but Maxwell, seriously...

Sorry I don't post here a lot, I do read your opinions every now and then, and as a Milan fan I would love to contribute more, maybe in the future I know I say that I support Milan and Barca, but I do lean much much more towards Milan, not one of the fans that bandwagined with Barca in the last few years, have been supporting both clubs since the mid 90s as they alongside Man Utd have been the most consistent. Anyway hope that you all agree that Maxwell should never be bought and Taiwo deserves more chances to prove himself...

Taiwo needs time to adjust, but he is a fantastic player...rocket of a free kick as well.

Lol yeah I know, that's my only hope that this would actually not be true, hehe, but I did actually check the latest news just now, and their was about 3-4 reports from different websites that we might actually sell Taiwo to Benfica and buy Maxwell in January. I just hope that we don't...

Taiwo has been at least as good as any of our LBs so far this season, so I dont get what Taiwo is doing wrong at Milanello.

Taiwo has been our main left back in Europe thus far, even if his league time has been limited. He's not leaving in January, never fear.

He is questionable in defense, I'd rather have Maxwell, we should have gotten him when we had the chance. I'd rather have De Ceglie over Taiwo.

i remember at the pre-season when taiwo was pitted against robben when we played bayern in a friendly and petty much stopped him the entire game, can you imagine what would've happened if antonini played instead??

i agree that taiwo isn't world class but i'd take him over antonini and zambrotta anyday of the week, problem with taiwo is that thanks allegri his confidence is diminishing because of the sparse game time he's getting, he was doing much better at the pre-season than he's doing now, it's allegri's fault, i F hate that man..

I'd rather have Zambrotta playing over him, he is a lot smarter. I know that Zambrotta doesn't have the legs to play every game anymore, but I certainly don't think Taiwo is the answer to our prayers at LB. I'm not saying we will make the move for Maxwell, but comparing the two players I'd rather have Maxwell. I also hear that we might get Dede from Vasco de Gama, although he is a center back I hear he can play anywhere on the back line

Mate trust someone who has watched Barca on a regular occurence over the last 10 years, Maxwell is an awful defender but very good going forward.........

I personally rate Taiwo, Zambrotta and Antonini over him defensively lol.

And its not too late to get him tbh, he hardly gets a game at Barca and is 3rd choice RB and 3rd choice LB.

There's not many defenders that have made Walcott look world class but Maxwell is one of these few defenders you could probably get a lot better than him tbh.

Btw dont you still have Didac Vila on your books?

Didac is on loan with no option to buy at Espanyol. Hopefully he will come back and play for us

Yes in all 5 appearances Nic, the guy doesn't know how to postion himself.

I'm not saying I disagree. I just think I'll hold my judgement on him until he gets a more extended run in the squad. I just think using the word "never" makes it seem like he's been with us a long time...

Just watch him at the back, he's a liabilty, he seems lost. Watching him in the CL even when he was OM it was the same. even when going forward he seems lost, maybe its adjusting but he has the build maybe to sit in midfield and maybe try and break up the play as he does have the energy for it.

I'm with MTD on this one I'd take Zambrotta over him still.

The LB postion is a difficult area to play and Milan haven't coverd it properly since the Maldini days.

For those who are saying Didac should come back

Just remember how good he is doing at the moment at Espanyol. Admittedly, he already lost 6 months of game time with us during such an important part of his young career.

Didac NEEDS to stay at Espanyol. Arguably next season also. I would prefer we look for a 25-29 year old LB in the meantime. Nothing long term. Maybe even a loan (this all depends on if Milan really don't trust Taiwo at LB)

This is so off-topic, but I think the environment here is better than the Barca section to post this kind of thing. So, if I may ask tahaa, why do you play both Kaka and Iniesta together in a 3-men backline formation. With three men, you usually play wingbacks or b2b carilleros as side mf. And with neither Dinho and Messi really tracking back, neither Pirlo nor Xavi really a destroyer, you need at the very least a Seedorf or even better a Gattuso, Ambro, Toure, or Busquets. I have no problem with the DF and FW, but if I may recommend you to have a better dream team I'd put it like this:

Iniesta

Pirlo
Xavi-Toure
Iniesta

Pirlo
Gattuso-Xavi
Kaka

Pirlo
Xavi-Ambro
Kaka

Oh btw, Iniesta is a CM who always move to AM in the linkup play, while Kaka is a trequartista that have a run stylistic of a support striker, so you have them reversed in your team. Cheers mate, nice team there from the two teams with the most Ballon D'or winners!

because that's their natural position, Pirlo is a deep-lying regista, Xavi is a rightfooted roaming regista and Seedorf is a left-sided box2box MF. Iniesta and Kaka are fine like this, nice! But they can also switch as well if you'd like. Keeper Valdes and not Dida? Nice team, have a lot of legends that I love. Shame Sheva you've just dropped out, but really Messi is better, Sheva > CR07 though.
