Honestly, these modern FPS don't bring that same excitement the oldies did.

Probably because they're all MP oriented.

I don't have a system bias, I play whatever is good, and I have a ps3 and the omnipotent PC so I will be playing all the great games and more :dance:

Sorry you didn't enjoy Mario Galaxy by the way. It was a really great 60+ hours of my life.

I much prefer original Mario/Super Mario world on SNES/gameboy. For some reason I enjoy them heaps more in 2D even if it's heaps more simple.

They are more challenging. 2D game design is based on a challenging game-play, where 3D design it is much more difficult to make a challenging design given all the time and effort 3D takes from you.

2D also allows for speed runs which are inherently more challenging..

Still, I think Nintendo did a very good job in creating challenging game-play in a 3D world, especially in Galaxy 2.

They need to stop. Seriously. Halo stopped being good after Halo 2, although Halo 3 wasn't terrible. But everything after was :facepalm:

Although I loved the multiplayer for a long time. I don't see what's up with the hate on Halo. Even the single player was ok. Nothing great, but not bad. The multiplayer was pretty good. If i would pick, I still prefer Halo over CoD. Never played Battlefield or Crysis though. I'm not saying Halo was divine or godly or anything like a fanboy, but it certainly wasn't bad or anything like you guys are saying, IMO. Although I guess you could say it was overrated simply because the massive hype behind it.

My vote goes to the Fable series.

First one on the original Xbox was good, but apparently very underwhelming to the majority (i didn't follow any of it so I have no idea what was hyped and not delivered, but that's what I've heard). The second was good, but underwhelming to me. The third was very average and again, underwhelming.

Fable series, listen to Molyneux, you would think its 2nd coming of Jesus. Turn out just big mess, everything was there as he promise just 100 times worse. Fable 2 last boss was voted by lots of ppls as the most dissapointing boss fight ever.

Far Cary 2 was overrated for me as well.

The multiplayer was fun but all the reviews and videos gave me an expectation that the game didn't live up to. Glad I didn't buy it

Which one? The first one is by far one of the most overrated games - couldn't play more than 5 hours before the before the extremely repetitive gameplay and prefab environments with some landmarks got stale and boring.

Fable series were extremely overrated as well, and disappointing to boot.

Modern Warfare 3 takes the crown for me though.

FF7 is a great game, but is only overrated when you consider how much better FF6 was

The recent Call of Duty games for me, easily.

I can enjoy it as much as the next guy but there are so many people who act like it's the only game out there. I simply cannot stand the ridiculous buzz that the game has when a new edition comes out either given that they haven't made any significant improvements since MW1.

I actually find myself preferring Halo to games like CoD now these days though, probably because I play those games for about an hour a month and it pisses me off how everybody knows all the insides and outs of where to camp in CoD when I'm already rusty at it. Halo is just a jumping, shooting, exploding, often mindless good time banana
