WTF has this got to do with PL or any league for that matter?

well...as of now at least naming stadiums is something almost exclusively in the EPL
whether the other leagues jump on the bandwagon yet is unclear although it would seem inevitable

Get on with the times, dudes. And this is in the German league who is supposed to be the more financially stable and less sellout out of all of them.

SI Park is from the 70s. Mercedes from the 50s. Rhein-Energie from the 20s. AWD from the 40s. Red Bull from the 50s. The rest are new.
Of course none of them will be as old as English stadiums, first because the Bundesliga is in diapers compared to the PL, only starting in the 60s, and second, Germany was bombed to shit a while ago.
They also built a lot of shiny new ones for the 2006 WC, but I see your point. It's just common nowadays, though. A lot of those stadiums had their classic names and were replaced with sponsorships from whatever.

Yes cash specially new revenue sources has become very critical and every owner or management has to keep it top of their to do list.
However, are the owners really trying hard enough or simply taking the easiest options at hand!
For example, have the NUFC tried to exploit global fan base to rev-up its commercial revenue! Or attract or facilitate more fans!!
To me the stadium name is second to the team name when it comes to identity. Try supporting Samsung Chelsea Club or Emirates Arsenal.

Well, it's a lose-lose situation.
Don't go down the naming rights path = Make less cash.
Do sell your stadium's naming rights = Anger the supporters.
But it's boring, really. I mean, these stadium names that are some company's name. I wish there was some other way to do it, but I guess there isn't. St James' Park - Sponsored by Sports Direct? No one would say the latter part, though.

Just trololing you, hehe. Newcastle is doing good and you were very critical of Ashley, hehe.
About your question, I would definitely sell Camp Nou's name for some bucks a year. I think it's better than selling the shirt to be honest. People will call it whatever they like, plus Camp Nou doesn't have any deep or homage meaning for Barça supporters, it just means "new stadium" literally.
Newcastle fans will keep calling St James Park, so it doesn't really matter the official name.
