Also, Far Cry and Crysis both kicked my ass.

People here still play Counter Strike 1.6 and Half-Life

I still run CS1.6 and I would be more than interested if a couple of you wanted to meet on a server. Especially if you're within US or Canada it should be real easy. Gametracker.com kicks ass for organising and finding local servers. My latency never goes above 60 when I play on the servers I find.

And trust me. CS1.6 still hold so much charm.

Best i have played are Timesplitters:Future Perfect, Perfect Dark(n64) and Unreal Tournament......

Have not played Counter Strike so wont comment.

Serious Sam was awesome on the PC...loved the weapons in that game.

Tactically speaking, Rainbow Six takes the cake for me.

But overall, it's definitely Goldeneye...so many epic battles with my boys....

Have you played Vegas 1 and 2, McLewis? Are they any good? I haven't played a R6 game since Raven Shield. They got too console friendly to me.

The first Ghost Recon was also great.

Duke Nukem 3D! I have so many memories from that game. Hell, I wasn't even close to old enough to play it when I did <3

Golden Eye & Perfect Dark. Haven't enjoyed a FPS ever since. Maybe except the 1st Modern Warfare...

I went in on the first Rainbow 6 Vegas with my boy on XBOX live and I was very satisfied with that game. It offered great online play and had many fun game modes, it had great replay value. I swear Rainbow six 2 aka Rainbox six 0.5, I swear this game took a huge step backwards

The online play was unbearable and I quickly sold my copy on ebay.

I played Calypso Casino attack and defend to death . So fun.

But I voted TS2, because it really is the best in my opinion. Good old days of Multitap's and system link, introducing the danger of 'Screen hacking' and indeed adding to the madness. I developed loads of weird slang playing this game in particular. So much was open to customisation that it never got boring.

followed in no particular order by COD4, RSV1, Goldeneye 64 and CS 1.6 (please don't ban me )

That's the one! It wouldn't surprise me if we ever came across each other in that game mode, we were constantly playing that. Repelling into buildings for the mother loving win.

Why did they have to go and ruin a good game? How is it possible to make a game worse? Perhaps this is why CoD franchise has begun to make limited changed to their games :lol!:

Odds are we probably did. Did you play on servers with restricted explosives? I always played on those

They ruined it by catering for people who a.) Couldn't Aim b.) Couldn't or didn't want to play as a team c.) Had no concept of outsmarting their opponent. The good thing with the first game was that they didn't listen to whiners and go round nerfing stuff and adding features that make the game to cater to absolutely everyone as soon as they put the disk in.

Call of duty as a franchise is the absolute worst when it comes to that though.

Just seems to me as graphics get better and better and so many more advanced (and gimmicky) gameplay features get shoehorned in core gameplay seems to worsen.

I used cheats so much in that game that I vowed never to cheat again and beat all my games square. Still follow that rule

Might rig the PS2 back up.

TimeSpiltters, PES 6 and HCTP are the only reasons why I still have my PS2. I would have sold it on ebay a long time ago if it wasen't for those two epic games.

There were plenty of great games on PS1/2 that were far more original and enjoyable to play than the ones that are being produced these days..

I miss games like Jade Cocoon, Resident Evil 1,2,3 and the original Crash Bandicoot, Syphon Filter, the original Tomb Raider, FINAL FANTASY!, Gran Turismo, Jackie Chan stuntmaster, Rayman, DISCWORLD! I had so many games for PS1 and it's such a shame that I barely finished any of them at the time.

Nowadays it's all about graphics. And it sucks. All the games i love are on PS1 or some other older systems. Final Fantasy VII & VIII, Rayman (original sidescroller), original medal of honor, Gran Turismo 2, Original Silent hill, Resident Evil 2, Worms world party and armageddon, Discworld, Oddworld, Croc etc. Even the Disney games like Hercules were better than 95% of the new games that are released nowadays (Hercules was just an example, it's awesome game imo).
