Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
I'd say Rooney. He's done slightly more than Tevez. I think if Tevez was performing at a top club earlier then it would be a tough call.

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
i wouldn't consider them a top club no they are a well known club tho... the EPL is a bit of a step up in class compared to the Argentinian Premiera. Rooney was playing for Everton in maybe the best league in the world at 16

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
your missing my point, its the level of competition in the league...i know Boca Juniors are one of the biggest clubs in Argentina them and River Plate. but you throw Boca Juniors in the EPL....they are likely a bottom half maybe relegation team....Martin Palermo and Juan Riquelme wouldn't be there now if the Argentinian league wasn't a class below european leagues....like most south americans they go home at the end of there careers because the level of play is a bit lower

The funny thing is that currently you throw Boca and River in the Argentine premier divition and they are also botton half/relegation teams
Velez rules though.

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
1. Can pass better than Tevez.
2. Can head the ball better. (09-10 season)
3. And if we're going to talk about looks. Goddamn Tevez looks like a strangled Caveman. At least Shrek is entertaining.
The only advantage he has is his work rate and it's not even that big of an advantage IMO as Rooney runs almost as much.
Tevez is a poor man's Rooney.

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
They are very similar players. I'd say Rooney, overall.
Tevez has an extremely horrible attitude, and this is considering Rooney's no saint. That brings down a lot of points.

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
Does anyone remember Tevez when he was at Boca and Corinthians? I do, I remember him quite well, thought he was one of the most talented footballers to come out of Argentina at the time. He wasn't an Aimar or a D'Alessandro but he could have held his own.
When he went to England, his game changed. A lot. He became way more combative. He was always a combative player but he really went up a couple of notches. And thus the general consensus is that Tevez is this combative forward with minimal skill which is not true. Carlos Tevez is really talented and I really believe if he had went Spain or Italy or perhaps Germany instead of England, the world would have seen what I used to see.
So with that, I would consider him better than Rooney. Nothing against Wayne as I think he is a great forward but Tevez has more facets to his game than he generally shows...

The main thing about him is that he lost a lot of speed. The bulking up he did in England was very counter productive.

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
That's correct, he isn't as fast nor is he as quick as he once was. He had a really nice agility going on...

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
Is the poll about who is more of a Shrek? Tevez wouldn't struggle in any league, he's got enough technic, I doubt Rooney could do the same

If only they could play in the same team for 2 years so we could get a definitive answer...

Re: Tevez Vs Rooney
Lol Boca is not a top club? I suppose having the record for most international titles in the world is no big deal... when Tevez was there Bianchi's team had a legitimate claim to being one of the best teams in the world.
