Re: Gerrard Out for 2 Months
Another infection, wtf is this?
Where'd you get that 2 months, Sepiczky? I'd hope / imagine one would recover sooner from an infection when treated right. Anyway, that picture doesn't tell a good story, it's effed up with Stevie, this year.

According to rumour.
Seriously. I'm going to need a break from this shit if the knee-jerking continues at this pace.

Sepi you can't do this man as my heart is quite vulnerable to news of this gravity.
Plus the headline says he could be out for England as you can understand his chances for after the international break.

Think it's 2 weeks to get the crutches off and after that, 4 weeks to be able to train.
FFS, we need him for the hective X-Mass period.

can i ask, how dies stevie G get an infection, surely with the medical facilities etc of a club like liverpool enough care would be taken to ensure people dont get infections?

Re: Gerrard Out for 2 Months
Official statement from the club makes it sounds more like a month or less. Infections are relatively easy to recover from once the actual infection is cleared up.

Re: Gerrard Out for 2 Months
Dr Kal Parmar, a sports medicine specialist with the Pure Sports Clinic, believes Gerrard's recovery should be relatively straightforward.
"I have read about the case and it is unusual for something like this simply to happen from a cut," Dr Parmar said. "I think Steven has been unlucky for the injury to come about in this way.
"It sounds as though the cut has become infected and that has got into the ankle joint. From there, the joint would be washed out in a minor surgical procedure. There should be no complications from there, it is easily treated.
"The cast is put in place to prevent any infection from spreading. He should be fine; you have to keep on top of the cut, keep it clean and he will probably still be on some kind of antibiotics. But he should be back within the next week or two, I would have thought."

And frankly its time he retires from International football.

If you're so interested in finding out, go search for possible reasons why. Insulting members who you want information off isn't going to help you.

i dunno, i thought the question was pretty legitimate... to be honest, i'm wondering the same thing myself. liverpool has this vaunted medical staff, and this is the second infection stevie's missed time for lately. granted they've said it's a rare case and a fluke, but it's a bit worrying.

Kenny on Gerrard and Carra
Kenny Dalglish today confirmed Steven Gerrard is making good progress in his recovery from an ankle infection.
The captain missed Liverpool's trip to West Brom last weekend and underwent a procedure to clear out all infection from his right ankle.
Gerrard will also sit out Swansea's visit to Anfield on Saturday as he continues his rehabilitation under the guidance of the club's medical staff - but Dalglish believes he has responded positively to the treatment.
The boss told reporters at Melwood: "Since they found the infection, Steven has really been progressing extremely well. Everything is positive for him.
"They found the infection and I suppose it's a wee bit like flu - you know you've got it, but you don't know where it came from.
"But they are treating and it is responding really well, so it's positive for him."
Meanwhile, Dalglish revealed Liverpool will make a late check on the fitness of Jamie Carragher ahead of the clash with the Swans - but there are no other fresh injury concerns for the Reds.
He said: "We'll check on Carra for Saturday and see how he is. If he's not going to be right, he is not going to be right.
"As a football club, we're much better with those two (Carragher and Gerrard) fit. They've been fantastic servants to the club and will continue to be fantastic servants.
"It was a great achievement for the boys to get a result at West Brom without either of those two playing, but I am sure they'll not be far away from playing.
"Everybody (else) seems to be fine. Nothing new has cropped up, thankfully."
