Re: The reason you watch football?
Well, as I started by watching World Cups when I was still a wee li'l lass, my love for the German NT never wavered. I guess that's why I would always put NT matches before any club matches.Surag.Blueguy wrote:rwo power wrote:First match I watched with my li'l bro' was the 1974 final (on the first colour TV that my parents just bought before the world cup then).Surag.Blueguy wrote:You must have watched 70s football then ?rwo power wrote:My original reason was Sepp Maier <3 A bit later followed Ronnie Hellström, Jean-Marie Pfaff, Dino Zoff and then Oliver Kahn... (I could list more, but I think that should be a good start )
You must be one of the older fans here then.Thats great to hear RWO.

Can I get that status? Please make sure its not a 'real ban' lol..
I am so sorry bro but I am afraid that the only way to get it is the 2nd option that we both don't want
sorry again

Re: The reason you watch football?
My first contact with the sport in general was the ball itself. When I first had one I had no idea that there were professional athletes doing amazing things with the ball.
So in short I watch football because of the ball itself which I loved (and still do).

Re: The reason you watch football?
Playing football in Kindergarten + patriotism led to me listening to the 1996 EC on the radio, does radio count?
After the EC my socialist (which explains the match :p) Godfather took me to my first football match at the Olympic stadion like two and a half months into the season, 1860 vs St. Pauli with 1860 turning it up at the end of the game and winning by a large margin.
I can say I saw Abedi Pele live
My first Bayern match was in november of the same season - it was the Munich derby and influence of schoolfriends, my godfather etc. had turned me into a fan of both clubs.
Bayern scoring early, 1860 equalizing then Jeremies seeing yellow-red and 1860 to holding on to the points for a full 3rd of the match was beyond epic for me, I went to the 3-3 draw later on in the season and I ended up being a fan of and sympathizing with both.
First football match I watched on TV was Germany destroying the US in 98WC at a friend of my moms house, I "watched" the rest of the matches on the radio (croatia )
My godfather would take me to matches frequently to watch (Bayern and 60 matches) and that's how I ended up where I am now football-following wise.
When I moved to Philippines where the EPL was on all the time on TV my support went to Liverpool because of:
and that they're ManUre's bitter rivals. (1999 - The only time I have felt more crushed was 2006 and you guys can probably guess why xD )

*cough* Ah, Ok. I never knew that...
Football? Well, everyone watches it here lol. Youre born into the culture. Then I rebelled and sided with Real Madrid.
