Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
NY put on an attacking clinic in the first half tbh. KC were all at sea.
No Zusi, no problem apparently
Besler is definitely legit though....best USA defender since Boca came up.

Cosmos better than Red Bulls (anyway, everyone knows it) in U.S. Open Cup. I watched this match, NYC totally dominated the RB. Very good game, I want more such games.

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
That was a strong RB first team. Really pathetic display.
I've never seen a low league team dominate a top flight one to such a level. Sure I've seen teams lose.. But watching the game you can generally tell who the bigger top flight clubs are.. But this time? Jesus they were out shot 21-3.. How is that even possible?

You have never seen us play in the cup
They should just call yesterday: the Night MLS died
3 MLS teams and 3 MLS losses

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Apparently nyrb have signed Damien Perrinelle.
At least they are addressing the issue, however not sure why they are targeting players who are not going to drastically improve the defence.
let's hope I am wrong

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Red bull has been really weird as of late. They don't spend any money on marketing or players.. Just random trials of nobodies and hoping for the best. Don't seem to intend on using their third DP spot any time soon. They've done nothing to respond to all the crazy hype and marketing NYCFC is currently generating. I don't understand it. They are losing the city to a team that doesn't even exist yet.
I hope something is done soon. This franchise has so much potential, but I feel like it is being wasted. They have a friggin beautiful, AMAZING soccer specific stadium. It should be packed EVERY game..the interest is there.. They have an amazing eager fanbase that WANTS to love this team but it's like they are doing their best to keep their fans at an arms length and never throw them a bone anymore

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Both Henry and Cahill could very well be leaving at the end of the season. Henry could retire and Cahill move to Aus
With the kind of money they have they should have gotten a 3rd DP already preferably a Defender of sorts

They are talking to Ronaldinho, but not sure you want his kind of crazy despite his past brilliance.

FFS YES PLEASE
holy shit
don't care if he is past it, he is still a genius. However NYRB needs to sort out defenders and CMs.

Ronaldinho not coming. Cheapskates aren't interested, apparently.
They have Leipzig going to the Bundesliga, they don't care about this team or about winning any more.

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Definitely.
Jones is out there. Just sign him ffs. He got an offer from the fire but turned it down, most likely because he just doesn't want to play there. He'd be perfect for the Red Bulls.

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Red bulls favorite type of player, ones that cost less than a twelve rack of their drink.
Anywho, Henry with a brace tonight.. BWP had one too, making him the first Metro/Red Bull to score 20 goals in a season.
Seriously I'd be happy if we signed him. I honestly think he'd be good enough to play for us

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Hearing from alot of NYRB fans that if the management doesn't improve many will start supporting NYFC when they come... The management, team selection, DP selection have all been shit lately
i really do expect the attendance to go down alot when NYFC joins

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Attendance for the Red Bulls won't drop.
The only fans that the Red Bulls are losing are the ones who weren't even going to the stadium anyway.
And the ones who are going to Red Bull arena regularly are in all likelyhood not dying to see Man City USA play in a baseball stadium on a pitch that will have the width of a bowling alley.
In fact attendance will probably go up, because there will be 3 more guaranteed sell out matches at RBA next season when NYCFC goes there.

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
1-2 in the first leg of the conference
BWP suspended for the next match. NY did a good job of making lee as quiet as they could, Revs a bit lucky with the result but that's how it goes I guess
It's amazing what a difference a strong physical midfielder can do and how it can change your team. No chance are the revs where they are or winning this game without Jones. (Ffs Wenger...MLS midfields have stronger midfielders than Arsenals)

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
They totally can. Cahill has been useless in midfield for them. The worst time of their season has been when he played in the pivot for a stretch of games. Which is why I have zero clue as to why Petke subbed off Alexander for him. Petke overall seems to be a pretty good coach but his subs are definitely his worst quality
Cahill will likely start at striker which is probably for the best seeing as how that's pretty much what he's been playing for Autrallian NT.
Games definitely not over by a long shot, but I'd say the Revs should feel pretty good about their chances to move on. The Red Bulls were successful for the majority of the game because they did all they could to contain Nguyen who's the primary source of goals, but now that they know they need to score two or they'll lose the game will be much more open and they'll have more ability to play to their strengths and more chances on the counter
I'm pulling for the Revs to win this one, but on the other hand Id really hate to see Henry to walk away from MLS after all he's done for the league and the sport in the country. He deserves to have a send off like Becks got towards the end of his time here. I guess we'll have to wait and see what hapoens though

Re: The New York Red Bulls Thread
Apparently the Red Bulls coach and BWP were unaware that the yellow card he got would have him suspended for the second leg.
Can't make this stuff up. lol
