- I had mixed feelings about that last scene and the way Rick handled telling that story. He was the victim, he was the one that was going to get killed, yet he presented it like he had to kill his best friend for the group. Weakest leader ever in a show, i dont recall such weak leadership qualities in a main character, so i found it highly entertaining. He completely ruined his credibility among those people because he never could make a decision, he couldnt even kill a dying Dale, never settled his mind on what to do with the prisoner, and had his group camping in the woods at the end.
He had it coming, athough Lori reacted like a real b*tch, sorry to speak like that but when i watched her pull away from Ric wanted to slap her. She knew Shane was a sick dude, yet she reacted like a hero was dead. I wasnt expecting her to react that way, and the way she grabbed her belly, she just confirmed Shane was the father of her unborn child.
Looking forward to that prison, and the hooded person definitely looked cool. I have the feeling that it's going to open on a very underground operation and high tech way of fighting walkers.
Loved the way the Series grew from the slow start, made it worth the hype.

The prison I simply cannot wait. Other than Rick and Daryl, the group really doesn't have much muscle power (I don't really see Hershel, T-Dog, and Glenn as tough guys that can do the dirty work). I wonder if the Andrea and the hooded figure will join them sometime next season, before they encounter the 30man gang.
I am kind of disappointed that Carol survived, but glad most of the other useless characters were killed off.

Cracker of an episode..
Everyone here has covered everything I was thinking about that finale. This show is just incredible right now. It took a while for it to be this good after countless dud episodes, but boy was it worth it.
Roll on next season.

- That whole scene when the farm was infested with walkers reminded me of the 1990 remake of Night Of The Living Dead. Top stuff.
I also like how it presented the writers with an opportunity to get rid of some dead weight characters, which I thought was cool. Some gory scenes too.

- This is exactly what I was waiting for from this show. Getting them off that damn farm just opens up everything. WTF was Rick babbling on about at the end there? He sounded like he couldn't even convince himself of what he was saying let alone the people in front of him. If anything, he sounded incredibly guilty to me about what he did to Shane (not that Shane didn't deserve it, mind you). I think Laurie's reaction at the end had more to do with her disgust with Rick at allowing Carl to kill Shane, even if he could do nothing to actually stop him. She seemed ok until Rick told her that then she just lost it. Ultimately, I think her reaction was appropriate enough, possibly the only time that it's been correct in any situation at anytime this season.
As for the hooded figure.....not completely sold on it yet. Every show of this kind seems to throw in a figure like this and usually it's a bit anti-climactic. The katana is cliched to bits, but obviously effective. Dark Horizons also confirms that it will be Merle that will return for season 3.

been reading comments on ign on the latest episode and 95% of them are extremely excited by the hooded figure, cause she is some sort of badass in the comics.

Best show on TV right now. Game of Thrones also AMAZING! Can't wait for it to return!
Anyways, back to the Walking Dead season finale. WOW! On the edge of my seat throughout the whole episode! So much zombie killing, it was epic! btw i just reached the prision part in the comics and the story so far has been hugely different from the show
Shane died early in it, killed by Carl, few days after Rick meet them all
and it moves to the Prision part pretty quickly only on series 12 out of the 90 something currently...their stay in the farm is pretty short
btw i recommend you guys read it till series 12,
i am going to keep reading as i don't mind it spoiling the rest of show

Great episode. I love watching them in sprees. Got like 5 done in 2 days.
Lots of action, although it was kinda funny how the filler characters were killed off. I also noticed Hershel's infinite ammo shotgun. That shit holds like 5 shells and he was all Resident Evil-reload from inventory-like

I heard on TD that Hershel was supposed to die in the finale as well, but the writers figured there were a lot of storylines they could still explore with Hershel in season 3.
Daryl also dies in the comics I believe but viewers love him so the writers kept him alive. Don't think he's going anywhere now.

Those guys are very likable, I'd hate for them to die. Dale was also good and it was a pretty lame way to go.

Hershel should've died honestly. He should've went down in a hail of unlimited buckshot. He kept saying he never wanted to leave his farm after all.
He just looks like he's going to be an awkward filler character in the next season now. Look for him to be killed off early methinks.

Actually Daryl is an entirely made up character for the TV Show.
He has no appearances in the comics.
But as the Washington Post stated. He is the perfect embodiment of a Redneck Jedi.
Daryl is a character that they should 150% keep alive throughout the series. I want a Daryl vs Governor showdown!
