i have seen this in a museum in shanghai too.....

was pretty awesome.... never understood how they did it

there are alot of vids of people doing it at home in youtube.... the water isn't really dropping....

it's an optical illusion of sorts

There's a tube with an opening at the top covered by the giant tap that channels the water upwards and out from the tube like a fountain which then hides the the pipe itself. A clever trick and I've seen a replica in front of a Ripley's museum.
