Elano in Spanish means the ... Laughing

A few names of Spanish origin have direct translations, but most are boring like tower or castle or whatever.

this may sound racist and to some extent it is too, but

'kalou' - literally means black in hindi.. Embarassed

no offense to him though

'Kala' means black, and 'kalou' means a black person right? Worth noting that the tone of it is not formal, more of something you would say amongst friends. It would count as something offensive if fact for most people.

The way that you say his name is different from the way you would say the Hindi word, though.

yeah, and there various ways of saying the hindi 'word' kalou , kalu too.. i used to call my best friend kallu, and another one kalu.... different pronounciations
