Almost offical: Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala
Inter have agreed a deal to sell Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala, according to a report from Bloomberg.
Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo reportedly confirmed the sale just hours after president Massimo Moratti said a deal was still being worked on.
Eto'o's agent Claudio Vigorelli also said the transfer was almost complete. The fee is expected to be set in the region of €35 million for Eto'o, with the player picking up a salary of €20m-per-season over the course of a four-year contract.
Sneijder sale?
Wesley Sneijder could be the next to leave Inter after Eto'o with the Netherlands international being strongly linked with a move to Manchester United. Paolillo himself claimed last week that every player at his club had a price.
Nonetheless, Bloomberg claims that no plans are currently in motion to sell the Dutchman despite reports that a fee had been agreed with the English champions.
Paolillo is also said to have claimed there would be no move for Carlos Tevez of Manchester City, despite Inter seeing him as the perfect alternative for Eto'o.
Inter striker Samuel Eto'o looks destined for a move to Anzhi Makhachkala, with his agent Claudio Vigorelli admitting they have "almost reached an agreement".
And Vigorelli has confirmed to La Gazzetta dello Sport that a transfer is almost complete.
"We have almost reached an agreement with Anzhi. Now we hope that the clubs agree," said the player's representative.
Vigorelli's words come hot on the heels of confirmation from Inter president Massimo Moratti that the club are in talks with Anzhi over the Cameroonian's transfer.
"The offer is not indecent but it is not up to me to evaluate it," said the club patron. "In fact it is intelligent, interesting and fair. Now it is up to us and Eto'o to evaluate it."
Eto'o was the Italian club's top scorer last season with 37 goals in all competitions, and will be seen as a big loss to the 2009-10 Champions League winners, whose other major asset Wesley Sneijder, who has been linked with a switch to Manchester United, also recently hinted that he could leave San Siro.
Wow.

If he's really going there, I'll be surprised... Does he really need that money? Because money is all there is for him to gain from this move.

I hate to break this to you, but all players get paid

Eto'o isn't some youth player brought up in Milan since he was 18...He was already WC when we bought him and we paid him well to get him to come, so he came for two seasons, won a bunch of trophies, and is now on to a new adventure
For 22 million a year I'd play in the Arctic Circle

If true I lose a lot of respect for him. It it happens it shows that he does not like football anymore.

Eto needs the money to support his foundation. So he is not exactly a mercenary!

Goal.com qouted this from Bloomberg and La Gazzeta Dello Sport
Goal.com Exclusives and editorials are trash. I still go there because it is quotes stuff from British, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, Portugese media. Basically it is a site which has all the transfer rumors going around the world, from the totally false to the 100% credible.
But the stuff they write themselves (Editorials & Exclusives) are just fail.

Sucks, would of rather he join a top European team (or even a mid level one if they could afford him)

Re: Almost offical: Eto'o to Anzhi Makhachkala
I dont enjoy watching him leave but its a good move for all involved
We get 30-35m (likely) transfer fee...Get to take his 10m wage off the books every year...which we desperately need to get in line for FFP
He gets to live in luxury along the Caspian Sea making 20mil per year playing for the team of some philanthropist billionaire..
