Xhaka is not at fault here, Bumery is for throwing him into deep water during a low form phase more than anything imo. Emery is as beta as it gets and it shows on the pitch.

I have been quite impressed by how City attack down the wings lately and how the offensive team mates can find each other almost telepathically. This is not old school tiki-taka I had known Guardiola for.

While there is a strong emphasis on pace and athleticism in wider positions, what has really surprised me is how the midfielders can find the wingers between the lines times and times again with a lateral pass. You'd think surely the defending teams can close these pockets of space and passing lanes, but in effect it seems to be far more difficult to do so despite every team playing so compact against City in EPL.

I almost feel guilty of comparing this team to Pep's Barça, as there was a time where Barcelona ran out of ideas hence the Plan B, Ibrahimović et al. In contrast this team doesn't look to get 'stuck' behind packed defences so long as the intensity is there. Physically this team is far more capable than that Barcelona team of yesteryear.

The main difference between Liverpool and City is the fact we take 15-16 passes to get even anywhere near the box if we ever start from the back without lumping it down the line. We don't have creativity in the midfield and the 4 best passers of the ball in the team are our back 4 Laughing

City takes 4-5 passes from the back and they are already in behind the defenders around the box. Their football would be a joy to watch as a neutral but I can't enjoy it at all for obvious reasons.

Keita is injury prone while Ox has been unlucky, they both need a proper spell before they even think about replacing the two rigid lads around Fab. Then there is the issue of the lack of stability when these runners play in the midfield.

Kovacic has been very impressive lately; watching him and Jorginho against Ajax and Burnley has been quite something.

Lampard is getting a great deal out of Kovacic, Sarri wrongfully attempted to make him a Hamsik/Zilenski which he doesn't posses their end product. A deeper role which he displays his passing, dribbling, and defense are displaying his potential.

Some of that personal stuff is way out of order tbh. If he's playing badly then tell him he's playing badly but there is no need to say things like that about his family.

let's hope this acts as a wake-up call for him?

While i don't think he provides much for a better future in midfield going forward, if he can just get his concentration together in the game that'll be good.Because i feel that is the reason for his silly brain farts mistakes on the pitch.

I really don’t think this kind of thing is exclusive to Arsenal fans. The most hardcore fans use whatever means they have to influence the performances of opposing teams, as well as their own team. Racism, threats, even violence has been used as a method from fans to get their point across to certain players. Even Gareth Bale barely escaped two Real Madrid fans who swung their fist at him while he sat in his car and politely stopped to hear them out (during Ancelotti’s time at Madrid). It’s nothing new, it just doesn’t reach out to the public very often.

personal, violent insults - a no go, for sure.

But anything related to expressing your criticism for on field performances - i'll stand by those loud fans.

He isn't the worst player in the team. He is not even one of the worst. Singling him out is nothing but agenda. Fans have players they worship and will never say a bad word about him. See bellerin. However the same fans have unwarranted hatred against players like Xhaka which does nothing for the players nor the atmosphere. Imagine giving your all and going home to see people wishing death on your newborn. What will that do to a player's mental health?

It's not just Xhaka. Today it's him. He won't last here for long after this incident for his own good. It will be someone else next. Then someone else.

There is nothing wrong with being critical of underperforming players. But there is a time and place for it.
