Yes, one should question VAR as it is still manned by human refs. Same refs that decide other football matches across the season.

It was a baby shit soft decision but, you know, as a Madrid fan, I approve of gifted pks at home (:

can't wait for Mcagger to come in here after they have a 15 pt lead and brag but obviously at the same time lay down his infamous bigtime jinx so that City eventually overhaul that deficit :coffee:

Now I know how ridiculous we sounded when Man Utd were winning games left, right and centre under GOAT Fergie all those years.

As some Red Cafe guy put it:

"They've become what we used to be. Sickening" Very Happy

The funny thing even prime VAR would not overrule since the contact was so evident.
Exaggeration cannot be a factor if there is contact enough to hurt the position the opponent is in. Mane was clearly impeded in a fantastic position and that would have been given as a penalty even with prime VAR.

He doesn't take 2-3 steps before as to what everyone here is saying, he goes almost immediately after the contact because the chance goes and he's closed down.

Not to mention, Abrighton's connection hinders Mane's shot when the keeper is off the line. Exagerration/softness does not correct how Albrighton denied that opportunity with a clear contact. Its not like this was the "faintest of touches", even Albrighton puts hit hands up the moment he touches him.

It was the correct call and he did the right thing. A soft penalty is the one that Liverpool got against Spurs in the CL final. This was a clear penalty.

Must be good being a Liverpool fan right now, basically you win every argument just because your team is good.

We deserve it mate.

Think from 2009-2018, it was either all mediocrity (being doubled by BLACKPOOL, out of cup by NORTHAMPTON, losing title in the worst way, losing FA Cup, LC, EL, CL final some in the most tragic ways).

Honestly, if any group of fans deserve some joy, it's us.

It's absolutely insane that the last time we had a "bad" result that actually mattered was over 7 months ago at Goodison when we drew Everton.

It'll eventually end (probably in 2 weeks at OT as we're usually garbage there), but WOW. what a ride!
