Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Yea you would think so.
I really want Emery to try Willock-Guendouzi-Ceballos but not sure if Guendouzi can hold the midfield by himself.

Against weaker teams, sure. In fact, that midfield did okay against Burnley, one of the most physical teams in the league.
My worry is that Emery doesn't see Torreira as a DM because he's not tall enough. He wanted N'Zonzi for that role. Had to be convinced to even sign Torreira at all. Can't help but feel that's being reflected in how he's using him.
But for me, Torreira starts every game he can.

Torreira's mobility is unmatched. Also underrated going forward tbh. But Willock has that Yaya Youre potential in him IMO.

Devastating that we will never see Guendouzi, Ceballos, Özil on the pitch at the same time this year and Ceballos might not be here next year.

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Against big teams, it'd have to be Torreira-Ceballos-Guendouzi for better control of possession. Willock plays if you want more drive with the ball.
Though frankly, any midfield that doesn't have Xhaka in it is fine by me. Even Torreira-Ceballos-Ozil probably isn't terrible, although Emery would never use it.

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Guendouzi great 2nd half
with Pepe its just that his first two starts were two big games,he will build better relationship with others and look better,at lille Ikone dovetailed well with him and they complemented each others movement plus good understanding with Celik(RB),so that will take time
we miss that link player between mid/attack

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
this midfield had everything in it.
ramsey coq cazorla
(runner) (defensive mid/runner) (ball controller)
This midfield is the best arsenal currently has (based on traits)
willock torreria guendozi/ceballos

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Auba/Laca both cant play together because it compromises defense
Mikht should not play on wings. his game does not suit that wide position. he should adopt rooney type role.

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Loved this, we dont get this on international feed
also disliked this misuse of Torreira, look at the positions he takes up,that's what you want from tour 8s In 433 but this isnt really his game
Pepe footwork and use of body feints to get out of pressure was lovely, and he has ability to receive and turn with the ball, which will help with creative part of his game too, very exciting player, wish we find left sided version of him too

Re: Arsenal vs Spurs
Pepe needs to work on his right foot too. Don't get why left footed players rarely ever do that. I am right footed, but during age 12-14 i regularly trained my left foot to the point where when i play people tend to ask which foot is my preferred foot.

I did that, as well. I started only using my left foot in training when I was about 11-12. I don't think it's all that common for people to work on their weak foot, though.. even among professional players.
DoC. His debut performance against Burnley was decisive. He played for almost the entire match, hussled the opponent midfield and got assists for both goals to show for it.
Second match was against Liverpool, and he struggled. Then again, Arsenal struggled. Willock has talent, but I've noticed that Arsenal look a bit off balance whenever they field a lot of youngsters, which is natural I guess. It wasn't a good day on the job for Ceballos. They looked more threatening after Torreira and Lacazette came on. Of course, this was when Nick started his hysterical "I told ya so, he ain't worth shit"
He came on as a substitute against Tottenham. I wasn't able to watch the entire match, because my girlfriend kept asking for my attention. I only caught glimpses of it.

needs more time to be assessed, was MOTM against Burnley in his full debut, then absolutely lost against Liverpool.
Didn't see much of the ball when he came on vs Spurs.
