Tito, how dare you put this all on players! And no it isn’t the same as last year. We’ve never had 10 injuries in just a month and a half.

Well Tito, you got your wish, a coach given charge of signings! It is his decision to stay with set lineup!

And look at the result - same old, but with an improved bench!

Already there is talk about Zidane leaving, possibly before season is over!

Maybe you should revise your wish to a coach in charge willing to clear out the majority of incumbents and truly revamp team.

Every year we have an injury crisis. Hell even when zidane got the job, we had an injury situation when cristiano made that comment saying if everyone was like me we would win la Liga. Not to mention, I'm sure you heard the comments made about james and his training or non training habits. Marcelo bale varane carvajal and james are all injury prone. Then add to that others who pick up knocks and arent the fittest.

This has been madrid for 10/11 years. Before people on here where blaming medical staff, medical staff has been changed at least 2 or 3 or more times, that should tell you something

Bill, I think your grievance is about transfers rather than injuries. If we talking injuries, some of these guys arent the fittest of the bunch. As for transfers I believe I cited my issue with that earlier in the period when I paraphrased mijatovics comments. Btw we had a host of injuries last year too. How do you think vinicius got his chance to play?

If your issue is transfers, I still maintain that my coach should have a huge say. It's on zidane that he thinks his squad is the greatest of all time and only wants backup. Maybe if twas mourinho we'd have spent 300 mill differently. Btw flo controlled everything last year and we didnt end up any better.......but u made this thread is about injuries, not transfers

And how the hell will I not blame players, marcelo ,isco, carvajal have had a history of weighing a few more pounds. And look at how hazard showed up on his first day, did that look like a dedicated athlete to you?

this is just one example of lifestyle choice. if true, can one really blame this on any medical staff? and how come everyone when talking about the consummate athlete they mention names like cristiano , names like lebron. these guys spend a lot on nutritionists and physical fitness. we've spent so much time blaming medical staffs, but regardless of how many times we change them, folks still get injured......what's the commonality here?

In this case Tito, it’s not medical staff being questioned, it’s Dupont, the physical trainer that is pushing these elderly fragile players! These are muscle injuries (other than Asensio).

Ok they are not that elderly. If Ronaldo can stay so fucking fit at 36 or 35, Isco and James in their 20s can very well keep their ass fit enough to not get constant muscle injuries.

@doc, i know right, none of our injured players that bill is calling elderly is 30. varane is injured too, regardless of who the physical trainer, medical doctor, nurse practitioner is/are varane's always been injury prone. i'm not dupont's lawyer or nothing, i'm not a phys-ed specialist neither, but if we are suffering injuries every year, at what point does lifestyle come into play? hell, anytime there's an international break we all here automatically expect injuries. even from players who weren't called up to their national sides

Yeah... nothing from what I can tell. DD did a favor to ZZ by not calling up Ferland Mendy since he had just gotten back from injury. They didn't need him. Digne is shit but good enough against shittier opponents. Varane made it through also.

Lenglet looks good btw. Damn it. Great for France but not good for Madrid.

Yeah I think most of the France NT plays really good for France. Lenglet is bang average for Barcelona though and I mean bang on average. Not too good and not too bad. Umtiti was much better but he disappeared into the shadow realm apparently. Or injured, whichever.

It's due to competition doc... every position is legitimately 2-3 deep if not more for France. Given that you only have a handful of NT games a year to show your worth, you really can't afford anything but good performances to make the team.

Giroud and Matuidi are exempt of course lol. They have naked pictures of Deschamp.

It could be a blessing in disguise because I'm pretty sure this injury wave haven't gone unnoticed by our fitness coaches and Zidane as well. They must have put in place a plan to raise the players' fitness level and avoid future injuries.

But I repeat, the players must also meet them halfway. Our medical team is far from being the best, but if the same player keeps on getting injured regularly after getting nursed back to health every time, it's no longer the medical team's fault. At some point, that player should also share a part of the blame and start taking care of themselves the way a professional athlete should.

To me it's a blessing in disguise because it forces Zidane to step away from the classic 433 with MCK. He now has to push forward with a 442 or 4231, which is what we need. Finding a new balance. I hope James steps forward in Modric place and balls

These are all international break injuries... Modric got it with Croatia while Valverde came back from Uruguay injured.

Hazard may be back though.

Likely a 442 with Casemiro-Kroos in the middle, Bale-Lucas wide, Benzema-Hazard as the strikers.

Bale is also suspended, I think.

Ramos and Nacho too (still not entirely sure. Somebody will have to check them out)

Kroos and Casemiro are now gonna play all the next 3-4 games and one risks an injury due to the repetition of games

Cannot wait to see the double pivot of Isco and James or Ramos playing in the midfield.

That being said, patiently waiting for Diaz to come back to ruin men's career in La Liga tbh.

Back in the days, Pepe bossed the midfield (as a destroyer ofcourse) , and Ramos, being way better technically, can definitely rotate for Casemiro, in emergency situations...

One could even argue, that Ramos is a better passer and better on the ball than Casemiro himself.

As for James, he can definitely NOT play as a CM... He ain't no 2014 Di Maria...

Carvajal ........ Ramos......... Militao......... Marcelo

Vasquez............. Kroos..........Casemiro................Hazard

................ Benzema....... Jovic .............................

Did you not see Ramos against Juve in 2015 UCL??? Arguably Ramos's worst performance in a Madrid Jersey and that's saying a lot.

Idk where ur getting the "worst" performance in Madrid Jersey....

but first, it was an average game on his part

secondly, one game can't dictate your positional succses

third, Ramos in midfield is purely for emergency situations, such as now, when we barely have any CM / DMs available, given injury situation.

Is there no quality midfielders in the youth team?

Isn't Fidalgo good enough to make the bench of the first team, just to act as cover.
