Yeah it took me 120 hrs iirc.

But it's a turn based JRPG, they're all massive time sinks. You know before you get into one what you're getting yourself into.

I've been telling you play this game to the point where you thought I was being obnoxious. What convinced you to suddenly decide to play it now?

Hmm I was feeling nostalgic and thinking about this turned based game i used to play. Then I realised it has been 3-4 months since I have played anything. Ps4 is being used as a charger for my phone.

So i thought i'd ask the brethrens here. Persona 5 is still unpacked so this makes it easy too.

I bought it for a reason when i did. Just didn't feel like it till now i guess.

Just noticed i have prey unpacked too. But i doubt i'll ever play that. That i have no idea why i bought lol

ES is known for being a fraud hyper imo so agreed.

FFTactics is amazing, GOAT game. The DS sequels disappointed in comparison.

I've never heard of War of the Lions. I remember playing the original one, and it was a pretty cool, but short game. I've never understood the massive internet hype and cult status the game has, but it's a decently fun game. Maybe FF tactics was the first of it's type? I've played better ones with the same concept since, and they didn't get a fraction of the hype or popularity. I suppose that's a benefit that comes with being "first" of it's kind, or first to reach out to a mainstream audience. Similarly, Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 seem to be much more popular outside of their established, long-time fanbases than their predecessors were.

I just hope the expansion changes the game during the fifth castle arc. The game started dragging for me around then.

I wish i played the original one because of the same reasons. It gets talked amongst the greatest FF games but i really never saw the appeal. FF tactic games are generally considered to be harder so i guess that's why they get so much hype. It's literally tactic based.

I hope they release the original on ps4/ps5.

War of the Lions is tye original plus some bonus content. If you played that then you played the game. The spin offs are FFT advanced which was great and had some cool concepts, and FFTA2 on the DS which sucked.

It wasn't the first of it's kind, at least from the ones I knew fire emblem and tactics ogre were around, I'm sure there are more. FFT was just incredible, it's hard to find gameplay so tight and well developed with a good story as well. Overall one of my all time favourite games. Many tactics games (including FTA2 or some disgaeas) can pull off good gameplay but there is little else to them.

PREY is a fucking amazing game, don't know what you guys are on a about. Its basically Bioshock in space.

@RealGunner if you do start Persona 5 download the Japanese voice track. Its free DLC and I prefer it over the English voice acting. Its half an anime so of course subs>dubs.

Nah I'm just old school. I started playing games in 80's, don't even remember the first computer I had before Commodore. So I've lived through it all, and I know what a real game is. Very few things released nowadays are games, but rather milking attempts with least effort possible, copies of the old. Gaming industry is mirror image of movie industry of today. M&B was a proper game, and the they've now developed the next one what 8-9 years? It's going to be proper game too.

M&B 2 and KC:D are exceptions.

Pretty much all games I play were top of the line graphics when they were released. Me playing still Baldur's Gate, Morrowind etc. just tells how superior gameplay, and how vast scope they've compared to "games" with modern graphics. You'll pretty much never get tired of them.

How can you not get tired of playing Baldur's Gate for the 100th time?

Did you play Witcher 3 by the way? I think it's a modern game that does the old things pretty well.
