2018/19 Calcio Saga - Page 35 Empty Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga

Great matches tomorrow.

Roma-Lazio

Lazio (4th) started with two losses, vs Napoli and @Juve. Can't fault them too much for these. Since then they've won the last 4 matches 8-2 aggregate. Inzaghi might have figured out the defensive side of his game. Lazio look more solid at the back now.

Roma (11th) started with a win and then collapsed. Doubts about the personnel and the system see them with 1 win in the last 6 matches. EDF turned to a more natural 4-2-3-1 and after a training retreat beat Frosinone 4-0. While this works for teams that can overpower, imo 2 midfielders would get murdered by Lazio. We (Juve) saw this happen too many times.

Rincon's infallible prediction: 1-2 Lazio

----

The main event, 1st vs 2nd: Juve - Napoli

Juve: we are having an awesome start to the season, 7 wins in a row (A + CL), 4 clean sheets. Everyone scoring and getting involved. Many systems have been used by Allegri so far with many combinations of players, so there are 4 doubts about who starts tomorrow. Regardless of who has played, the weight of the team remains and matches have gone well. 4-3-3 looks like the choice tomorrow, 3-5-2 also possible. The question marks are who will play on the right (Cuadrado vs Cancelo), a midfielder, and who will partner Ronaldo (2 of Dybala, Mandzukic and Bernardeschi).

Napoli: Like Allegri, Ancelotti has been experimenting a lot. It only backfired against Samp terribly with a 3-0 loss. Otherwise, he has been impressing everyone and has built on Sarri's team. He switched to a kind of 4-4-2 putting Insigne and Milik forward. Insigne is second in the capo list, and the pair has 8 goals already. Carlo has rotated a lot, and all have responded well, so it can be extra midfielders on the sides (Zielinski) or wingers (Callejon and Verdi).

HYPED for this, Juve 2-0 :coffee:

I really wasn't aware that Napoli will play Juventus tomorrow. Will definitely watch it if they aren't playing at the same time as Madrid. Thanks for the heads up!

The match is earlier, at 18:00. Madrid plays at night I think.

Excellent goal, perfect ball from Pellegrini and perfect header from Fazio. Lazio slipped with the marking there.

Pellegrini MOTM? Goal and assist after replacing Pastore [injured].

It makes me sad to see this Lazio team this season, they had so much going for them last year but they missed the CL in the last minute of the last game and replaced De Vrij and Felipe Anderson with Acerbi and Correa

What exactly is Pellegrini's natural position? DM? CM?

Next DDR?

Felipe Anderson going really weakened them.

Pellegrini MOTM for sure. Pastore was not working out, the injury was a blessing for Roma in this game. The contrast between what Luis Alberto was doing and what Pastore was trying to do was telling. Pellegrini made the midfield much better.

Caceres and Fazio gifted goals away but at least Fazio scored one too.

How? DDR is known for his world class technique whether it be his passes, ambidexterity, shooting and control under pressure. Pellegrini whilst very talented isnt on that level.

De Rossi is WC at almost everything. Only thing Pellegrini has over him is dribbling. I think Luca meant that Pellegrini was more offensively gifted than defensively so, not that he was more offensively gifted than De Rossi.

To answer RG, he is a CM. Passing, dribbling and vision are his main things. Energetic, but not so defensive.

Juve wanted him but iirc he just renewed and removed the release clause.

Sorry, I didn't mean he is more offensively gifted than DDR, just that Pellegrini's game is not that of a DM, he's more offensive minded*
